the Rankin/Bass stuff is questionably "Western" but Jack Frost

forgive me for doubleposting, but this is exactly the story I was remembering (and where the pic came from!) I'm pretty sure somewhere else on his site there's a hate mail page that was made just after some big long email he got about this story. Like he'd had some hate mail already, but the reaction to the horse story pushed him over the edge.I don’t mean to interrupt the superhero talk, but I found what might be that story about The Oatmeal’s neglected horses. Or at least something close to it. Either way, I do not recommend reading this while eating.
Is it really that okay? Not good in the sense that you can sing its praises, but that you can get some entertainment out of it? Just curious. Thanks to Just Stop, I sucked it up and watched Fixed. I don't think I'll ever watch it again, but it wasn't bad, characters actually are rather endearing for being dogs (remembering they're based off his friend circle makes me wonder what exactly was borrowed/referenced). Pretty sure there were a few moments of Genndy paying tribute to some of his influences, like I'm 99.9% certain the cat alleyway scene was an homage to Chuck Jones, and that the "human position" moment was a way to poke fun of anthropomorphism.
Weirdly enough, I do honestly feel like this was the movie that Rover Dangerfield wanted to be but wasn't allowed to.
Yeah, I had some chuckles here and there with one actual LOL moment. Lots of wordplay that differentiates it from modern screenwriting (though I think the script has remained relatively unchanged from 2009), and the use of cuss words has a more natural feel to it than just "LOL the dogs are saying 'fuck' and talking about their assholes, isn't that FUNNY IRONIC?"Is it really that okay? I bet. Joking of how often we accept that and not think too much of how weird it looks in real life. Thanks to Just Stop, I sucked it up and watched Fixed. If only Rover went through that BS with losing his manhood.Weirdly enough, I do honestly feel like this was the movie that Rover Dangerfield wanted to be but wasn't allowed to.
I'm sure that was the point, though I never been through those moments where an animal was fixed in my family, so I wasn't sure if that was something that was done to make the dog less anxious of the event to happen. I suppose they wanted a set it up so that other dogs picked up on this to spread around like rumors. Now I'm not a dog owner, so what's this whole "kool-aid in the toilet bowl" thing? It feels like an exaggeration of how owners "bribe" their dogs before going to the vet.
God, I'm sure we've had this discussion over and over for decades. I side with the Western side since it was initiated here first and much of the pre-planning was here too.The Last Unicorn was produced in America but was animated by a Japanese studio. So does it qualify as Western animation or not?

there's been more than once I've looked up at what the wife had on, wondered why she had apparently Kinnikuman or 999 on but then I realize it's a TRG monsterIs "The Real Ghostbusters" Anime?
I'm sure none of these people know! This is a cartoon made for kids, right? How the hell is bitching about artist struggles/criticism on social media supposed to appeal to kids?
These things aren't made for kids anymore, they are made for the tumbler/reddit/twitter/blue sky manchild demographic.Man, everything I see about We Baby Bears just makes it worse.
Those links have two clips from an episode where a they/them self insert is dealing with mean comments about her art (including “too much bean mouth”), and then bitching about how people don’t understand art. As someone who does love art and drawing, this is some “up my own ass” shit.

Having "adultescents" and "menchildren/womenchildren" that say that you can still like crap "even after you grow up" was a mistake.Kids? This is a show for maladjusted 30 somethings.
At this point, they're entirely hinging their success on the revival of Gumball and the future revivals of:Isn't Cartoon Network already struggling? This shit's not helping.
It really is. The opposite of having your dad tell you to stop watching cartoons at 14.Having "adultescents" and "menchildren/womenchildren" that say that you can still like crap "even after you grow up was a mistake.
