Agreed. I don't hate Bruxish either since real tropical fish are vividly colored like that. The gen VIII Pokemon posted do suck though.

If I may pick on toons aimed at really young children, there’s JayJay the Jet Plane

On one of our VHS's there was a preview for Jay Jay, I always hated the strange fleshy-faces plastered on the planes which somehow doesn't ruin their aerodynamics.

Big Mouth is just so ugly that I can't even stand looking at the characters.

Its like Goanimate but with a pinch of Chinese bootleggery added to it.

I remember seeing this show advertised all the time on Nick or Cartoon Network back in the 90's. Or rather, to buy the VHS's because this show was apparently so bad that none of the networks wanted to actually air it during the preschool blocks. Ditto for that dental hygiene show with the tooth puppets.

Aside from that though I'd probably have forgotten all about JayJay if not for the fact that he was an early 00's flash meme. His picture showed up in quite a few of those flash vids, but the only one I can recall by name was Suzukisan.

I think that was the reason they changed Gwen's design, not in general. That also might just be a big game of chinese whispers though.

The fourth and fifth ones actually looks good.
The colors are atleast consistent and easy on eyes atleast(except for the pupils)

I kind of prefer the design on the right. It's still a "sexy" design without being all over the place tonally.

I love most of James Turner’s Pokémon designs but he is a terrible art director. Gen 8 has by far the worst character designs in the series.

I have a bone to pick with the arrested development of most indie game design, but Don't Starve/Don't Starve together is one of the most unappealing mixture of political comic proportions and thick lines. My distaste for the game comes off as contrarian so i'll leave that aside, but on visual design alone i cannot think of something as enjoyed by so many people with such a strong fanbase producing loads of art that i cannot see the appeal of.
