I don't have it anymore, but i remember seeing an image that showed Virgina on a horse similar to the one Alain uses when promoted, and if we go by the theory that Virgina was an alternate female design for Alain before getting turned into its own character, it was more than likely than she, and by extension Ilenia, were going to be mounted units, got changed into infantry to beore different from Alain, but they never corrected or noticed that they still had the spurs

That would make a little more sense, but not enough for high heels on riding boots. I guess I just don't understand the appeal.
Like, okay, sure, a mage only wearing half a window curtain's worth of fabric? Sure, okay, typical, just be aware that when Yahna says "We're doing it without protection," that means half the town is getting frozen solid when the ice of Cocytus spills out of her cloaca. And the less said about Sylvie and her "Cursed Swamp", the better. There's a good reason cavalry gets stuck in there.

I think she's cute, and all of her stuff has been thought out and has meaning to Catholicism by the seems of things.
I think people just like to hate on stuff cause 'anime' or 'it's trying to appeal to the youth too hard', but this is very tame compared to stuff from when I was a kid that tried to make religion cool, some of that stuff was either terrible or nightmare fuel.

Okay so I'm not someone that has an issue with fanservice designs. I generally don't care actually. That aside, I do like to make a distinction between "Meh coom" and "Lol coom" for fun.

Meh coom are sexualized designs that are inoffensive.

Lol coom are sexualized designs that ham it up to the point of impracticality or just silly.

Azur Lane has a bit of both and if you follow the game somewhat, you probably know they censor the outfits in China. Personally I hate censorship but I have to admit some of them actually make the designs better.

This is a tamer example but Alsace is what I mean. Uncensored, she has some strip of blue lace that's supposed to hold her tits together but it looks so dumb that I can't take it seriously.


Which is why the censored version is actually far better.


It's still a piece of fabric over her boobs but it looks more believable and less stupid.

Another example of lol coom is Foch Meta. Now regular Foch looks fine, censored or not.

Nevermind the skin showing and the busy background, what in the fuck is she wearing? The ink on her limbs is very unappealing, especially with the golden nails. Her proportions look off too but that's just how she's drawn. Especially her boobs.

Which is a fair assessment.

A stupidly busy background and an unneeded amount of details make a lot of the designs worse. There's an argument to be made about art styles and how characters can look different depending on who draw them and stuff. And if it's easier to make sense of if you remove a needless background.

There's no saving a hoe if her outfit is shit though.

For example there's so much going on here, it's kinda hard to tell everything apart. Alone, it'd be a little less of an eyesore but cluttered as shit because you'd have to separate her hair and her nine tails and her dark kimono. And it's all black. With different shades, it'd be easier to make sense of. Even if she's packed as shit.


My worst example is Ganj-i-Sawai. It's hurting my eyes. Bright on top of bright on top of iridescent bright.

Took me a long ass time to figure out he anatomy as well. Don't ask me wtf she's wearing either.

And just to laugh at more lol coom. I swear this will be the end of it.

It’s the way the cartoon is drawn. It made me think of Bob’s Burgers when I first saw it.

The strip gets a lot of criticism for not being funny. But I think the humor is more niche than anything. The creators of the strip are from Denmark, and understandably a lot of Americans wouldn’t find it funny.

Astralis not only revolutionized how CS pros performed off-stage (mental health, social media skills, generally being.. yknow, athletes), they also made Denmark the 'starcraft's south korea' of counter-strike. They showed their games on tax-funded mainstream channels. They dominated the media landscape for quite a while, then fell apart and nobody cares anymore.

Formality mostly. Those censors have to justify their existence. They pick the smallest nitpicks and make the dumbest suggestions. You have no idea how petty and self important these censors are. The same people who "consult" for DEI and diversity.

It's mandated by law but I agree it's beyond miniscule and there have been times where's where I look at the characters and had to spend ten seconds figuring what the change even was.

That said they aren't always consistent with it either. Like some cases, it's miniscule and the other cases, it's rather noticeable. One that makes me kinda lol is one character with her boobs out and the censored version just slaps a butterfly in front of her cleavage.
