What are you playing right now?

I’m getting around to Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. I know the original wasn’t especially loved here (and, admittedly, the fact that it’s kind of a rough game doesn’t do it any favors), but this is a very polished side scroller inspired by the Donkey Kong Country series. It lacks the big showy set pieces of DKC: Tropical Freeze (in my opinion one of the best platformers ever), but it’s full of really creative ideas. It doesn’t entirely abandon the Banjo approach since there is an overworld with a bunch of secrets and collectibles. I would really encourage people who were turned off by the original to give this a shot provided you like platformers.

So in the days leading up to the release of Streets of Rage 4 (it comes out this Thursday), I've been replaying the original Genesis trilogy, as well as the fan-made remake, to remind myself of the level of quality I should expect from the upcoming title. I hope it's every bit as excellent as the original games. I'll be sorely disappointed if it turns out to be a huge pile of shit.

I've been playing Division 2 with a friend and we're having a blast. We're both big fans of co-op shooters, tacticool nonsense and speculative technology so this title checks all the right boxes. I haven't played a game through with a friend like this in years, I forgot how much fun it can be.

I’ve been playing Grim Dawn for about 11 hours I think so far. Never really played a diablo like game before but I’ve been really liking this game. Other than that I’ve been trying to do Eden streaking in Binding of Isaac but have only got up to 8 wins so far.

Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise

Basically Yakuza in Hokuto No Ken cosplay, and with a LOT of silliness on top. It’s great!

From the looks of the trailer, prepare to be VERY disappointed.

While I really like Agents of Mayhem, I put it on hold for awhile. The setting is amazing, the game is fun, but I wanted a large, engrossing and more grounded open world to play right now. That's been my mood during all this. Agents is an action game set in an open world, not an open world.

So I put in Watch Dogs 2 instead. I don't need to play the first one, apparently; I don't find that game appealing at a glance, so I'm glad. The second one has that fun GTA V kinda vibe and playing, wow, was I impressed.
It's one of the most varied, complex, and realistic contemporary open world games I think I've seen. Without any of the needless 'realism' a developer like Rockstar would implement too. Nor a cookie cutter cover based third person shooter, which is even worse. (Naughty Dog, Mafia, etc)

I was blown away by how much it surpassed my expectations; there's so much to do and find from the very start; all I did was goof around right at the beginningt and had fun for hours.
I'm no stranger to Ubisoft, and while they make good worlds, there is also tons of glitches and very limited gameplay. Not here.

I'm really going to have fun with this one for the next few months, I can tell.

If this is a taste of what open world games can now be, I'm even more excited for the next generations of GTA and Saint's Row.

Beaten Thief: Gold on Expert.

Didn't appreciate this game back when I first played it as much as I do now. Holds up fantastically.

Return to the Cathedral and Escape were absolute hell to go through.

Finished the A route of Nier automata. It amused me that there was a message telling you about replaying the game for alternate paths but it makes sense that they'd put it there. I can imagine there's people picking this up as their first entry in the Drakenier-verse, though in my case I read Dark id's let's plays so I'm already familiar with Yoko taro's stuff.

Going back to my old favorite Zelda Twilight Princess. In the past few years my gaming experience has diversified by a ton but I’ll always have a soft spot for it.

Saints row 4 hyped for the HD version of 3 due out soon. Kinda like 3 more since it was the last time the series was grounded in reality somewhat. Aside the army declaring war on street gangs the zombie apocalypse, the luchador gang boss and the weeb gang with a hard on for dubstep and vr

Streets of Rage 4, it's on Xbox Game Pass. I'm playing as Blaze and made it stage 6. Pretty good, I think some of the enemies are doing some bull but that could just me not being gud enuff. I am wondering why'd they make Axel look like a homeless version of Ken Masters.

Trying for a "perfect game" of FF VII. Goddamn art through adversity is that game in spades. I abandoned it once cause I lost my memory stick. But I completely forgot how charming the first disc is as a concept.

April was COD month for me. Achieved platinum for modern warfare 2, world at war and black ops 1. Also played a shit load of nazi zombies.

Pathologic 2. Had to cap the framerate to 30 just because the game was constantly dropping below 40 fps. Pretty cool Russian jank so far.
