What are you playing right now?

Saw they remade Wizardy and was excited to play a classic dungeon crawler. Though as soon as I got to the party selection the character art ruined my desire to play.

Seriously these are my choices they look like WotC approved character sheets I don't want to play as these losers.

I can't remember why but I felt compelled to play Bioshock recently. I originally beat it when it came out for ps3 and also finished the sequel on release. I finished the remaster when it came out as well but judging from my time played and achievements I only barely started the remaster of 2. I'm considering trying the game on hard or higher to get the handful of achievements I'm missing but I dunno if it'll be enjoyable. Normal mode was too easy for the most part. I'm also in the camp that thinks 2 is the best of the series. It removed the obnoxious pipe hacking game and improved the gameplay overall.

Almost done with Ninja Gaiden Sigma (On chapter 18) on normal and I am very mixed on this game. For one the controls and fights against mooks are fucking phenomenal, like legitimately the best combat I've ever experienced in a video game and this cannot be understated.

But all the bosses so far are just so fucking ass, like aside from the guy on the airship and Doku none of these assholes are any fun to fight cause of how many iframes they have. Another thing is that I held out from using a guide, but I legit have no idea how you are supposed to know where the hell to go cause there's no obvious objective between missions and the world connection just feels wrong but I can't articulate why.

Still gonna try 2 and 3RE after this, 8/10 fuck those ghost fish.

Oh yeah and my gf recommended I get into Danganronpa, so I've finished 1 and 2, and I have 3 currently lined up to start this weekend. I really just wish I gave this series a whirl when I was 15 cause I would have adored it! Still like it now too a course but this woulda been my shit back then.

Overall I really prefer the first to the second, it was funnier and I was way more into the story - and there's not a single character from 1 that I actually dislike, whereas 2 has plenty I was glad to see the last of. (Toko and Kiyotaka are my tied favourite dangans, but I also really like imposter Byakuya from 2). Soundtracks for both of the games are great and the trials are fun, so I'm very much looking forward to trying 3!

Dragon's Dogma (first one)

It's crazy how compelling the simple gameplay loop of "kill giant monsters, collect loot, craft weapons, kill more giant monsters" is.

And it's even crazier that Capcom with monster hunter and to a much smaller extent DD is the only company even making these games anymore.

Left 4 Dead 2, Valve games just have this timeless appeal and their games might be the few that I actively play the multiplayer.
There is almost a rogue-like aspect of L4D since you never know the type of players you got and the director brings enough variety so that almost no playthrough feels the same. The level design of the official maps are still legit great and the 2 groups of survivors are memorable and fun to play as. The steam workshop makes sure that there will always be something new to play from the community.

There is also the aspect that I dont got as much free time as I had so something kind of mindless but fun with online friends/strangers is perfect.

I'm doing a playthrough of FFVII Remake since Rebirth is finally coming to PC next week. The game is also pretty well optimized on the Steam Deck despite the half assed PC port.

Even with some shitty changes in Remake, i still want to play Rebirth. Not for what Squenix wants but maybe a future Steam sale.

I've been playing the PS5 releases of Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. I already completed Thievius Raccoonus and 2.

The did a good job of emulating (that's right, they're emulations of the PS2 releases rather than the PS3 rereleases) these titles, my only complaint is that the pre-rendered cinematics on 2 and 3 look very low-quality. Oh, and Sly 3's 3D functions are still there and they're surprisingly not as headache-inducing as they were on original PS2 hardware. I hope you still have a pair red/cyan anaglyph glasses.

EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention is that these titles have a different trophy list compared to the PS3 releases, meaning you can double-dip on 'em if you can stomach the glitches present in the PS3 version.

I've also been playing the Remake. Been having a lot of fun with it, since it's pretty challenging for an RPG. The fact that there's the possibility of permanently losing a party member to a rough encounter actually makes me feel tense while playing.

As for your complaint regarding the portraits, thankfully, you can just import whatever portraits you want. I've been playing through the game as the cast to Touhou, while a friend of mine has been creating a party of meme characters like Duke Nukem and CDI Link.

One thing to keep in mind though: Custom Portraits default to the female voice. So if you want a Custom Portrait with a male voice, you'll have to select a Default Male portrait, then switch back to the Custom Portrait you actually want to use.

"What if we made a game where you.. crawl on the big monsters?" OUHRUUUUU HOLY SHIT!

I just love the pawn concept. How big a part they play despite having no real presence. I'm a sucker for companions in games and I remember making a healer/caster all my friends used cause they were busy making DPS loli pawns.
The game has a 30% discount until the release date next Thursday and you can grab it for $40.89 on CDKeys right now, I would say grab it.
You don't even need to read reviews anymore. You can gauge what a game is worth by the sale and frequency of its sales. There's a reason a lot of must-plays are on the first page of all steam sales, despite being able to demand twice as much.

Intermittently, Persona 2: Innocent Sin on the PSX, I don't hate it, the art, music and story are really cool and the gameplay is slightly better than P1 but still kind of a slog, invested too much time into it at this point to drop it so I'll probably finish it soon. Other than that, Granblue Fantasy Relink with friends and more consistently atm Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks since I hadn't played it till now.

Counter offer I go full Weeb and play Labyrinth of the Lost Souls and don't give these fags any money till they get off the Tgirl dick and actually get some good fantasy art. Devs need to learn that gamers don't need to play new games when there is a backlog of betters ones that you can emulate.

To be fair I pirated it so I did not give them money, but I always like to try before I buy and if they game is good or entertained me I'll usually buy it. Hell I even gave Genshin some cash as I played it when it first came out and it was fun till the well dried up and the Gacha reared it's ugly head.

Gori: Cuddly Carnage: It's Lollipop Chainsaw with 100% less T&A because you play as a cat.

Near as I can figure, 3D melee combat peaked in the reboot Ninja Gaiden series and going to (almost) anything else feels like being lobotomized. Razor's Edge was released to little fanfare and inherited all of the ill will toward NG3 Vanilla, but that's where the core mechanics are most polished.

You play Darkest Dungeon until you get mad.
I ping-pong between forcing myself to play shit I actively dislike and going "fuck this" and playing something comfy I 100% will enjoy or at least be indifferent to. Until I then itch for anger and reinstall whatever shit. Guess I should just aim for a healthy mix of both, but I'm pretty extreme in that mindset. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk was pretty fun for what it was, but the people basing their entire existence on JSR esque games is nuts.

I've been leveling in Classic WoW and it's honestly pretty fun. It requires focus so I play in one-hour bursts and then stop for half if not whole days. It does however make me want to play ESO or Morrowind instead; explore something new to me with the same slow kind of singleplayer approach, cause let's be real, wow isn't a multiplayer game anymore than ESO. I've seen conversation in /1 once per every 50 LFG messages between zoomers with brainrot names.

I'll say! I just finished the Sigma a couple days ago (feeling proud I finished on Normal and not Ninja Dog) and I legit think that I'm probably not gonna go back to DMC at all now. I remember thinking shit like God of War Ascension was too fast for me at one point and now DMC4 makes me yawn lol.

Gonna start Sigma 2 soon, but I have heard they really neutered the difficulty, so I think I'll give it a whirl on hard to start with. If I like it enough too I'm gonna go through Razor's Edge too.
