Pretty good game if you want to chill and watch weapons automatically firing at armies of enemies while you listen at something in the background.

Crime Scene Cleaner. It's one of those job games made with Unity. There's something comfy about cleaning up crime scenes for some mysterious guy.
It's pretty good. Only thing I didn't like was how they told you how many bodies were at the location, spoiling any sort of surprise.

Decided to pick back up Back 4 Blood for the first time since 2023. I got it to play with friends before and I decided to play through it solo.

I enjoy the banter between characters and even building perk decks. The different mutations you fight seem unique until you realize it's essentially variants of three different models. A skinny jumpy bastard, a fat blob that either rushes and kamikazes you or throws up on you, and finally a tall thing with a big bulky arm. I played through the game on nightmare with AI help. I completed the first 3 acts and I genuinely despise the 4th act, so I'm done as far as I'm concerned.

Got back into Gloomwood after almost two years of not touching the game. The last time I played I think was after the update that added the goatman but I don't think I actually managed to progress past it. It's impressive what's been added though its clear there's still loads more to go. In one of the new-ish areas, there's a map of the city and based on what's currently in the game, I'd imagine it's somewhere between a quarter and a sixth complete, not including new areas that exist outside of the in-universe city map. Therein lies the issue; at this rate, it's going to take another ten years for these fags to finish their game which is unacceptable. What's there is so good that it would be a colossal shame for it to be fully released incomplete and unrealized. For the love of God, shoot David Szymanski in the fucking face and hire some people to help out.
That said, I absolutely adore the power station/underport. Fantastic area, hopefully setting a bar going forward. I'm going to try and deal with the hive later tonight. Another thing that's been finally added that wasn't there the last time I played was floor materials producing different levels of sound a la Thief which was a complaint I originally had. The AI is still too retarded to make good use of it but at least it's a thing.

First time I actually got to the Staff of Herding bit in a D3 season. Now I understand why people just usually quit at this point. I've been farming it every day for the past week, wasting 2 hours daily killing Izual over and over, and the fucking plan still hasn't dropped.

Does that do anything besides open the MLP level? I didn't realize it had become such a big deal.

There's a whole fucking gameplay mechanic called "Altar of Rites" which grants you account-wide character buffs for the current season, and to access said buffs you have to perform some seriously arduous tasks. Some can just be grinded, some are pure RNG. The Staff is required (and CONSUMED) for the second-to-last node, and unlocking every node grants you cosmetic wings. Previous notoriously awful nodes need a Ramalamadingdong, a Petrified Scream, a challenge rift cache (this one is particularly cancerous because the challenge rift might be just fucking AIDS), ancient hellfire amulet, ancient puzzle ring (have fun reforging) and rank 125 whisper of atonement, which is somewhat harder than clearing GR 125.

Anyone here currently playing any good immersive sims? I have this insane itch for one but can't seem to find anything decent. I have obviously played the major ones like Deus Ex. Currently playing the System Shock 1 Remake, which is fun and all but not really what I want (since it's literally just combat)

There's Prey but that falls under the well known imsim umbrella. If you haven't played it, either pirate it or wait for a sale. It was $6 during the summer sale last week and under no circumstances should you pay more than that. As I mentioned in the post above, I'm currently playing Gloomwood which is good but incomplete and in early access. What's there is great but it's probably only like 7-10 hours of content. If there's anything specific you'd like to know about it, feel free to ask.

Play this one in spurts if you intend on completing it. I have 100% achievements until the update, and I can tell you it becomes one hell of a slog after a while.

Thread tax: Lords of The Fallen(2.0) and Kiwi Clicker have been the main 2. Quite the gulf in experiences.

played the new Destiny 2 DLC, I enjoyed it but fuck I hated the puzzle sections, Bungie putting that in a game with an audience that just plays the game to shoot aliens and grab loot rubbed me the wrong way, also gave Mount and Blade II another chance but fuck if that game doesn't filter me like sink water

The fact there is no steamworkshop content pretty much is the nail in the coffin for this game as it means not even the community will be able to mod something fun.

L4D2 still reigns supreme

Tax: I have a love and hate relationship with this game but it did become less annoying after the last major update

The idea is neat and my autistic brain enjoys micro managing squads and roles and things like that but the AI can really fuck you up even at early at the game even on medium difficulty. Make sure to pick a location worth a damn (more often than not, your home area wont be a good pick lol)

Just ignore that the zombie looks like this guy

Donkey Kong Bananza with a friend. The game is laughably easy if playing co-op and you have a friend just blast everything in sight. Gonna take a break from it to start playing Robocop: Unfinished Business.

I’m alternating between Donkey Kong Bananza and Rimworld. DK is good fun but feels like it will be easy to burn out on as I am going for as many bananas as I can before progressing to lower levels. As for Rimworld, I haven’t played since Ideology released so I’ve 3 dlcs worth of stuff to catch up on. Spent most of my time relearning the game and going to stick it out with the colony I start today. Will be doing the new spaceship start. Wish Hugslib wasn’t throwing errors. I need my RimHud back.

Decided to go to a local game store and pick up a copy of COD Modern Warfare (2019) mainly because it was cheap, but also because I heard it has a survival mode. I loved the original MW3's survival mode as a kid and I thought maybe I'd get some nostalgia.

Holy shit playing it solo is genuinely a terrible experience, mainly because the guns all have their multiplayer stats so you'll get killed in 30 seconds of starting by the AI because you'll have 15 guys rounding the corners immediately in front of you with shotguns. It's not impossible to get past them with perfect accuracy and cover, but more often than not you'll go upstairs and their pathfinding makes them walk single-file up the stairs and into the room you're in. Grab a semi auto shotgun or lmg and you're mowing down dozens of guys in the same doorway. Thumbs down.
