What are you playing right now?

GTA: San Andreas - every year I start anew it always feels like a fresh adventure - blasting Ballas, getting away from the cops, flying in an airplane, driving to every kind of funky tune in existence, all that good shit.

And despite knowing all that happens in the story and to the characters, it still has the same impact every time - It's so well-written I am guessing SA's writers no longer work for Rockstar.

With how old it has gotten, more and more do I feel it is like a time machine to a far off era, despite it only being 20 years.

Replaying New Vegas for the first time in over ten years. It's been so long since I've played it that I honestly remember very little. Got an energy weapons build going and I want the gatling laser but I can't afford it yet and I'm gonna have to put two points into intense training for the strength before I can use it. For now I'm making do with a laser rifle. I'm probably going to go the House route as I did Caesar last time.
Used the viva new vegas guide because I know fucking nothing about NV modding.

Close to a decade late on it, but Dark Souls 3 finally clicked for me.
Did a really shitty Magic Weapon buff build til Abyss Watchers, decided it was stupid, rerolled a Knight and made it back to that point in about 3 hours.
I'm sure stats play a large role in it, but I'm enjoying being able to feel myself easily dodgeroll/kill mobs that were kicking my shit in for the first few hours of play.
I truly believe that Dark Souls 1/2/3 should be held as equals to The Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire and The Chronicles of Narnia. It's seriously a beautiful tragedy across all three games and elevated games for me from being a form of entertainment and disconnect from reality to something capable of moving you like a novel, play or film. Elden Ring I'm not such a big fan of story wise, but Dark Souls is peak storytelling in an interactive form (alongside Metal Gear Solid).

Jap bros really know how to tell a sad tale.

It occurred to me that I’ve never completed any of the 8-bit Final Fantasies. The first one, I got lost in the ocean. The second one, well, I never touched it. The third... I think I turned and ran.

The first game, I’ll admit, isn’t as bad as I remember. Dip into marsh cave, snatch gold, return with LIT2, and you're in business.

The second one's the real skull-cracker. One mistake, and you’re gone. It has this habit of springing chest monsters that wipe the floor with you because you didn’t bring the right spell or you failed to pick up the right weapon from a dungeon before.

I've been playing the Slavjank remakes of King's Bounty. I didn't like them when they came out but they clicked for me now, I especially liked the second game which is Crossworlds (improved version of Armored Princess).

Been playing Alien Isolation.
Its pretty enjoyable, but I just don't think I'm built for stealth like I was a few years ago. Its my second time trying to play this game so hopefully I make it thru chapter 5 this time.

Sat down and finished I am Your Beast's story mode in one sitting. Pretty good game, although the rap music gets annoying to listen to when you're constantly trying to beat your previous score on a stage over and over. Was a good change of pace from the other stuff I was working on. Now probably going to get back to Bioshock 2 remastered since I haven't touched the game in forever.

Been bouncing between a few games lately, but I’ve found myself randomly playing eggy car here and there. Nice little time killer. Thinking of diving back into San Andreas too...

I want a management game so bad but every single one is either super hyper complex or super basic cause it's a $5 indie.

I genuinely think my interest in Sims re-release stems solely from knowing it's a simple creative outlet. No 3D architect too like Planet Zoo and not some 5 minute indie shitfest like Parkasaurus.

I got back to halls of torment recently. A pretty good and robust survivor-like compared to all the other slop.

I’m more nostalgic for the console ports of The Sims games, they actually had gameplay, even if the limitations of the hardware caused some slowdown or restricted how many objects you could have on screen.

Honestly, the least fun I had was the free roam mode. Instead of actually building houses, I used the custom create feature to make real-life celebrities and have them visit my Sim in story mode. 8)

Try Parkitect, it’s a spiritual successor to the old Chris sawyer roller coaster tycoon games. The mechanics are very similar, so if you're familiar its easy to learn.

I have been playing Peripeteia's demo (apparently got updated with the Early Access release) and have been really enjoying it.
The environments remind me of dicking around obscure SS13 servers, and I really like hopping around/grappling along everything.
Part of me wants to buy the full game now, but it is still in early access which is a bit off putting to me.

What's the best port of GTA:SA nowadays? I remember R* tried to sell an HD edition and it was a piece of shit. Should I just run it on a ps 2 emulator?
