I found a
vid by Majuular on Lost Odyssey and realized I hadn't played it in like 15 years. I've been eyeing it on Xenia since last year but last time I played it had horrible audio issues and black screens. Then I saw this
vid and he claimed you could play it a 1080p 60FPS.
I followed his instructions and got everything set up, even found and enabled the DLC files for it. It took awhile but I finally got it working.
Here's the difference. Here's a vid with the 60FPS on but framerate uncapped. I recorded it in 30 FPS with OBS then learnt later to cap the internal framerate of the game at 60 because uncapped was throwing up weird graphical bugs.
And here is 60FPS recorded in OBS with 16x Anti-Aliasing and all the patches applied once I had figured out the settings.
That patch really makes the animations stand out. The game is playable till the end but there are some bugs that haven't been ironed out yet. The 60FPS patch doesn't play some cutscenes when enabled so you'll go through a boss fight, have the cutscene freeze. Requiring you to close the game and disable it then continue on till you get to the next save point. The second is 2 occasions of hard freezes that haven't been fixed yet, both in chapter 3 and one in a cutscene but that is skippable.
There's also one side quest you can't complete because it requires you to run across the screen to fetch something and since it's 60, you will fail everytime because they set a timer to the framerate. Set it to 30 and suddenly you can do it.
I think it's still a few years away before you can plug and play it but it looks great from just simply bumping the framerate up.
