If we didn't then why would we bother? The only exception you could maybe make are immediate familial bonds. Even these are not ironclad or foolproof however. So long as people are honest and upfront about what they want, and what they want isn't illegal or particularly immoral, then they should not be shamed for pursuing their heart's desire.

That's as true for passport bros as it is for gold diggers.
