What game do you wish Phil would play? - AKA best future TIHYDP material?

phil should absolutely play Kenshi.
just bare with me here because i think this is a NEAR perfect game for phils scheme.
some new tard can pull a papa and just donate 50 bitchears to phil on how to build his base and min-max his workers.
but he'll fail and fail hard when he picks skeletons because chat told him they're easy "they don't eat and don't need beds"
and complain when normal beds don't heal him and wonder why he can't just assault random homeless people and win

I wish DSP would play Super Mario Maker 2 troll levels. I know he would absolutely hate it and if nothing else the level itself would provide the humor

You're late as fuck. He did that like over a year ago. The only thing I remember was him saying 'THE HITBOXES ARE NOT CORRECT FOR SPIKES' or some shit.

If it wasn't mentioned: I want him to play Ace Combat 7. I just want to see if he manages to beat the "get a high enough score to win" levels on the first try

Ace Combat has you covered the game gives you only a checkpoint if you manage that part. If you don't manage to destroy enough you get right back to the start of the Mission. Or do you mean that if he fails the follow up (like the attack on Farbanti) he has to restart the whole mission?
 
It's a shame Phil won't play PC games because he's too stupid to make a PC streaming setup. I wouldn't even want him to play genres like grand strategy games or old cRPGs based on P'n'P RPGs or something else that would be fundamentally impossible for him to understand (Morrowind and KOTOR showed how that turns out). I'd want him to play shooters which are more tactics based like the older R6 games or like SWAT 4, or shooters with light RPG elements like STALKER. When it comes to an upcoming game, Serious Sam 4 would be great, apparently those crazy Croats said that the game will be able to have 100k enemies on screen at the same time (truly the Musou of FPS games) and we've seen how sluggish Phil is when playing old school-style FPSs from his nuDoom playthroughs.

He played STALKER on PC for his 2019 Halloween marathon. I skipped to the end because I thought he'd do his "I dunno why people suggest these kind of games for marathons" spiel but he hated it too much to do it. I remember watching and, of course, he never really learned to play it; bumbled his way around the starting area until he ran into humans and got shot. Now that I think about it, just like Morrowind but more lethal.

the game was also donated according to him 8 years ago, nice way to repay them phil just shitting allover it
phil despite being on a PC could refused to change Keybinds
"in quake run is shift" or some shit "and in here its...X"

I think the thing that pisses me off the most here is "by modern standards", it's basically shorthand for "it's too hard, and doesn't hold my hand". I bet he'd say the same thing about Deus Ex if he ever played it.

Lately I've been playing Hexen again. I'd love to see Phil try and play that. He'd get wrecked and wouldn't be able to understand how to finish levels. Also Hexen 2 because it's just as hard with even more difficult puzzles. Mind you, I don't think the puzzles will stop him given he'll just look at chat until someone tells him what to do (though his audience may not know Hexen and Hexen 2), however the difficulty and mass number of enemies would mess him up. Hexen makes DOOM 2 look like a walk in the park.

Legacy of Kain series.

The gameplay isn't exactly tough but if Phil ever wanted to see what puzzle bosses were. Those games have him covered. I always got quite far in them but could never figure out where the fuck to go. Only ever completed Soul Reaver 2.
