What game do you wish Phil would play? - AKA best future TIHYDP material?

I wouldn't mind seeing him try and play Gun at some point. The game is pretty much a cakewalk and not really difficult per say, but the Steamboat chapter near the end can get pretty challenging if you don't know what you're doing. Especially against Hollister since he's pretty much a damage sponge. It helps that the difficulty increase kinda comes out of nowhere so Phil wouldn't be expecting it.

Phil probably wouldn't have as much trouble with it as some other games but it would still be fairly amusing to see him try and tackle that part without even a little frustration.

on the one hand I'd love to watch him play Outerwilds because I know for a fact he's too stupid to figure it out.

on the otherhand, he's too stupid to figure it out. so there's really no point watching phil fail to solve a mystery and then get cheered 5$ with the solution.

The best games to put in front of Phil are the ones that require him to be able to 1) see things, and 2) perform very precise movements. So basically, platformers and racing games, especially the really merciless ones. Anything requiring knowledge, like you said, will just get ruined by paypigs.

A tower defense game of sorts so he can complain about having to experiment with certain builds. Either that or Synthetik, if only because I'm pretty sure you need to hit 2 buttons to reload your magazine, where he would then lose his shit after ejecting his mag and dying quickly.

Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be great I Wanna be the boshi would be a treat.

My Summer Car

Survival game set in 1995 Finland where you have to rebuild your dad's old car so that you can keep it. There's also a weekly rally event so why not upgrade the car and enter? Did I mention this game has permadeath and several ways to die?

But knowing Phil, he'll spend the entire stream hitting the swear key, the middle finger key, and the piss key.

Don't give him ideas to make more playthroughs like Morrowind where twitch tells him how to play the game a dollar thirty at a time.

Europa Universalis 4

yes I know this is as far out of Phil’s wheelhouse as a diet. Yes i am autistic for playing grand strategy games.

but just imagine it.... It might be the first game Phil has the existential realisation that it’s simply smarter than him and isn’t just “broken” (although eu4 is pretty broken once you understand it)

a delusional pipe dream maybe but the thought makes me smile

Reactions: Full Race Replay
Since he is the self-proclaimed "King of Retro", I would like to see him play any of the Ghouls 'n Ghosts / Ghosts 'N Goblins series.

I imagine he'd set a new record for rage-quitting.
He played it on the Genesis Mini. He died in 37 seconds in 'Practice Mode', the easiest difficulty. He got hit on the first screen.

Does the game send you a message saying when to change the oil?
