What game do you wish Phil would play? - AKA best future TIHYDP material?

He should play Hell Pie. It would fit with his scat humor and his audience of dentheads would love it too.

This fucking game would be the penultimate "wuh wudoIdo?" TIHYDP. The sheer amount of systems you need to memorize, crew order juggling, mission prep, using good judgement, etc required would overwhelm him pretty quickly. There's also very few in-depth guides for him to follow -- similar to Divinity 2, but way more complex and unforgiving. No save scumming, no exploits, nothing.
This kinda reminds me. Has he played FTL? You know... The roguelite ship combat game? He would rage extremely hard through his travel in the game and when he reaches the final boss it would be absolute madness for him.

I will even bet he will not know what to do when he gets raiders on board.

Nope but he did play Darkest Dungeon. And as you would guess he didn't do very well there too.

Ace Combat. Some of the plot points in that series are bizarre and there's plenty of "Fly through a tunnel" missions where you have to squeeze your plane into a dam, space elevator, etc.

Armoured Commander II, particularly with permadeath on. He touts his Italian heritage so much, the WWII Italian tanks are effectively armoured shoeboxes with machine guns and armour thin enough even anti-personnel hand grenades are often lethal, let alone allied tanks.

Any subsim. High barrier to entry usually. (Not very high, but you can't expect to just pick up and be the next Ramius without lots of trial and error. Familiarity with nautical terms, bearing, course calculation of both you and your target, etc.) You have to be very patient, something DSP isn't. (Speed = Noise. A submarine is almost helpless against anti-sub weapons, effectively making any subsim a "Stealth Game".)

Yeah, i saw the vids. He was too lazy to start anew and go through the tutorial again to understand how to fight. I bet he will do same or worse in FTL, specially with random events like supernovas, Ion storms, planetary ordinance and similar.

Overall, very rage inducing, but i bet the streamchat will spoonfeed him the best weapons to get, like fire bombs or if he has a lot of mantis/rock invest on a teleporter.

Ace Combat 4 and 5 would be the ones he would rage the most especially the infamous mission 25 of Ace Combat 5.

Whatever the fuck this game is because the rage I see people have while playing it has me rolling every time they die.
I remember that game. Pewds played a long time ago along with many other rage games. Phil would not play that in his lifetime, even if it gives him the most views he had.

If it is about infamous missions, i would also recommend the C&C saga where in every game there is a "Destroy all submarines" mission and it's the worst of all missions.

I would also recommend Phil to play Silent Hunter. He wouldn't be able to get past the tutorial with the submarine.

all of the retro Ghosts ‘n Goblins/Ghouls ‘n Ghosts games
Played the remake fairly recently and he raged insanely hard. I mean, it was an impressive thing tbh. On the retro ones he would hands down ragequit, no questions about it. Without the checkpoints the remake has, it would be impossible for him.
Fire Emblem Thracia 776
Older FE series would generally be horrible for him rather than the ultra casual waifu simulators that are now. Even FE 6 would be extremely challenging for him.
Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei
Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne
Persona 2 Eternal Punishment
Persona 3 The Answer
Dunno if he will play any Atlus game after the Persona 5 shitshow. He swore off Atlus games so dunno if he will get pressured into playing any other. But these would be great for him, specially Nocturne where if Demi Fiend dies, it's a game over.

Oops, how could I forget these ones?
pretty much any Contra game
Battletoads in Battlemaniacs
EarthBound Beginnings
Mother 3
Mega Man & Bass
Mega Man X7
Mega Man X8
the rest of the Mega Man Zero series and the Mega Man ZX games

Reminder that he barely beat Fire Emblem Three Khandos on EASY difficulty.

Any TCG would bring a fair amount of salted pork. Imagine this dude trying to figure out Magic: The Gathering formats
Imagine him playing modern Yugioh, his opponent would spend the first turn shitting out half their main and extra deck and when it's Phail's turn he wouldn't even be able to normal summon a Celtic Guardian without hitting at least 3 sources of summon negation.

He really beated it? I saw a few vids and the salt was pretty amazing for a really casual game like that. I thought he would eventually ragequit it when he got to much harder levels, but if he played in Easy it's like when he played Persona 3 on easy.

Funny you compare it to Persona 3 because that's how it almost ended up, he almost ragequit Three Khandos while right in front of the finish line fighting the final boss. He somehow persevered by using his usual tactic of banging his head against the wall until the wall eventually gives way, you could tell in the last stream he did of that game that he didn't want another Persona 3 situation.
