I have this self-made potato dish I lovingly refer to as Potatobomination.

You put on some onions, garlic and fiery sausage (something like Hungarian kolbász if possible) on hot oil ( prefer coconut, but sunflower is fine too), put some chopped up potatoes, carrots, paprika, broccoli, some steamed frankfurthers and occasionally some bean or corn). I add some salt and spice it up with some thyme, marjoram, rosemary, dill, parsley, just a touch of cumin and a bit of ginger if I'm up to it. I put it in the oven and stirr it up three or four times ever 15 minutes till the potato becomes golden brown and soft. At that point you crack some eggs on top of it, add a bit of extra salt and bit of seasoning that goes well with them (turmeric, powdered paprika, a smidge of tarragon). Wait another 10 minutes and lo and behold, the Potatobomination is finished.

Ideally the potatoes should have the same softness as the baked egg, and all the juices from the ingredients join forces with the spices to form a delightfully succulent dish. My cellphone makes some pretty shitty photos unless the lighting is perfect, and it might not be much of a looker, but believe me when I say that my little culiary monstrosity is freaking delish!

Posted this in the today I have thread as a shitpost, but I'll elaborate here.

I wanted a burger today. A nice, juicy burger. Had the ground beef, the swiss, the lettuce, tomato, bacon, sauce, etc etc. All that shit ready. The only problem was the burger itself. See, I couldn't find the damn frying pan (some jackass put it behind the blender), so what the fuck was I gonna do? I grabbed some baking pans from the pantry, put the patties in, and cooked at shit at 400F (Although we suspect the oven runs a bit cold, so think 375F most likely). 20 min later pulled that shit out and plated it.

And know what, it was the goddamn best burger I've ever had, the perfect temperature, perfect amount of moisture, and all that. Only thing it lacked was that smoky taste from charcol, but I wasn't gonna get that from the stovetop either so w/e.

Tried an experiment with one of those big pork loins they sell cheap at aldi. Cut it into a few big chunks and sliced a bunch of cuts into them to expose more meat. Dumped in a bag of dried chili peppers, a jar of minced garlic, a literish of generic cola, and about a quarter of a bottle of soy sauce. Left it in the oven for about 11 hours at 225~.
Pretty good. Could use probably a third of a bag of peppers instead. Definitely worth pursuing though.

Probably going to clean the chili bits and seeds out from the remainder and throw in in a mac and cheese or something.

Looks fuckin' terrible but I'll take your word for it.

How did you come up with the recipe?

Looks like a garbage plate. That's actually a dish mainly around Rochester NY that looks like a pile of vomit but is delicious and packed with horribly bad for you stuff (also including potatoes).

Hehe, yeah, when I first uploaded the pictures on my computer I was like "Shit man, do you really want people to make impressions of you based on this?". In my defense, it would probably look a lot better had I had the the foresight to take the pictures during daylight.

Coming up with it was really just me throwing whatever I could find into the oven, looking up what kind of spice goes well with the ingredients, and gradually esperimenting till I've found the ideal amount of ingredients. Even my picky as fuck best friend found it good, and he regularly calls my favorite burger and gyros joints subpar shitholes.

Oh man, that actually looks sublime! Still, I like to think that my little Potatobomination is at leas a tiny bit healthy. I mean, it has broccoli and carrots on it! And marjoram, that's good for your digestion! That's gotta count for something, right? Oh, who am I kidding! #killingmeslowly

I have a similar abomination creation with potatoes and random junk.

I cut out wedges, boil them for a couple of minutes (to reduce starch/make them softer), deep fry for about 5 minutes, then throw them in a dish like you do. In the dish I add onions, spicy sausage, salsa, and some beans if I've got them. Season, throw that in the oven for 20 minutes then garnish with cheese.

I'm currently making a stew, they're easy as hell to make and are really wholesome. You can pretty much throw anything into them and it'll come out alright, you just need the patience to leave them cooking.

Some kind of weird franken-chicken and beans. I have chicken, black beans, kidney beans, a can of crushed tomatoes, paprika, cumin, onions, garlic and red pepper in a crock pot. It smells really fucking good so far. I think I'm going to shred the chicken and serve it over rice.

Ooh, sounds great! I also love making stew, turkey in particular.

I've been trying to eat healthier so one thing I'm making quite often is mushrooms stuffed with tomatoes, garlic and TJ's low fat feta. 4 ingredients and olive oil, maybe 6 minutes of prep if you are slow with a knife, and it tastes great.

Feta makes everything better! putting some on rye bread with a few slices of purple onion and ruccola makes my world go 'round.

Man, I have to try that out some time. Those crock pots sound really useful as well, I should invest in one sometime soon. What do you usually out in your rice? Aside from the typical salt-and-laurel combo, I like to spice it up with some turmenic, anise, basil and ginger. It gives the rice this really nice flavor and aroma. Oh, and a whole piece of purple onion!

I was craving a burrito but I have several scars from drunk cooking so I made a frozen burrito. It was fucking nasty and I was hugely disappointed. So the next day I made my own goddamn frozen burritos and they're delicious. They microwave perfectly and it's amazing.

My friends made fun of me at first until they ate one and realized the pure genius of homemade frozen burritos. Now whenever I want a burrito I just pull one out of the freezer and nuke it for 3 min and I'm good to go.

Crock pots are amazing. I used mine at least once a week. Since I live alone. I usually get two or three servings out of one cooking, so I have a nicely stocked freezer for when I don't feel like cooking that day.

And it depends what the rice is going with. If I'm making a mexicany dish, I put cumin and cumin seeds and dehydrated garlic. With Indian dishes, I use turmeric and a little saffron and dehydrated garlic and onion. Asian food, I just use a little 5 spice and ginger. This sounds weird, but rice is one of my favorite foods. I eat it with everything. My rice cooker is my bae

I'll be honest, I have not cooked in a while.
However, I can share some photos of what I have cooked a little while back though.

I cooked this like around two months ago, because I genuinely felt like having multicolored pancakes. I will definitely say these came out relatively well.

Okay, this was made a few months before, and while it definitely tasted good, it does not look good is because the oven at my dorm's kitchen sucks. Needless to say, it still tasted good though. I will say that I do need to work on my cooking skills though.

Wtf can you make with shitloads of spinach, lettuce and endive? The garden has overproduced and all my neighbors are Asian and dont eat much of what I'm growing (I gave my neighbors some radishes and she tried peeling it)

Try googling 'Spinach, Lettuce, and Endive recipes' and see what you get.
