What Have You Cooked Recently?

I’ve apparently been on a canning kick again, I had coupons, so I made 13 pints of all berry jam. It was five pounds strawberries, two and a half pounds of blueberries, two and a half pounds of blackberries, and ten pounds of sugar. Turned out really good.
The immersion blender is fucking great for it, makes the jam perfectly smooth with like no effort.

Doxxing my burgers foto_no_exif (1) (1).jpgI also wanted to fry eggs to put on top of the patties but I don't think they would have fit. Following the american principle of "the more ingredients you manage to stack the better your burger is". Kind of fitting they ended up looking like the twin towers

yes, I ate them both myself in one sitting

A russet.

White, I take it? I am not sure if there are red or yellow russet-style potatoes.

Russets are not yellow potatoes. Yukon Gold are yellow potatoes. They taste completely different

There are tons of vegetables that are potatoes or like potatoes but I divide it into the following categories:

The starchy potatoes are the russets with the brown skin. Best for baking, but a solid all-purpose potato.
the Red and Yellow ones are the wax potatoes - these do better as mashed potatoes or gnocchi or potato bread, soups etc.
the orange ones are sweet potatoes, there are also deep purple-skinned sweet potatoes with white flesh that I prefer
Then there are the gimmick potatoes, like the blue ones or the deep purple Japanese ones. Don't bother. The color may be... interesting... but the flavor isn't good imo.

I know a guy you might relate to:

He did it before Shaggy and Scoob.

Spinach and mushroom quesadillas tonight.
Sausage products were on sale, so I'll be making bratwurst hot dogs with mustard and jalapenos one day, and pasta the second- I like to fry up hot italian sausage with onion, add garlic/carrots/celery/green bell pepper/mushrooms, and then go from there aiming for a red sauce with fresh herbs as well as a few habaneros. I'll reserve some sauce for the kids prior to adding the hot peppers, of course.
We're getting sick again (FFS) so I'm probably going to make lower intensity meals for a bit. Having young kids is hell on that front, they can be washing their hands 200 times a day and they'll still pick up whatever it is that the girl at the playground had from touching a handrail.

air fryer with baked potatoes

It's not really "cooking", but I found some square frozen hashbrown patties in a bag at a discount store a while back for 3$.

Cooking in the air fryer for 20 minutes, flipping once, has led to delicious fastfood-deep-fryer quality results wrt crispness.

It requires patience though. When I flip them at the 10 minute mark, the patties are so soft and fragile that the plastic tongs tear them.

I did bake it, sorry. Forgot to mention that in my post.
Some people just don't like brie, some people just don't like cheese. I have one friend, Charles, who can't stand cheese. He keeps on trying it and wanting to like it, but it is gross for him every single time, every cheese.

Don't be like Charles. If Brie doesn't do it for you, it's OK to pass on it.

I'm talking about Camembert. Not brie, which is delicious.

Shrimp and Broccoli in Brown Sauce stir fry over pan-fried ramen noodles. It was great and pretty close to a Chinese restaurant version.
I've taken to making the kids (leftover protein) and broccoli for lunch. They must have it like 3-4 days a week, usually with a very small portion of beef, plenty of broccoli, and rice sticks. I make the sauce at the beginning of the week so I can better tailor the ingredients that go in it, so it becomes entirely trivial to make even on a very busy day. I never thought of making it for dinner as it's become a quick and easy lunch meal and I try to make something comforting and more high intensity for my husband after he's done working, but there were leftovers last week and he had some and liked it so much that I'll be adding it into the rotation.

Air fryers are a lot of fun. IMO best for cooking sides or for 2 people or fewer, or small jobs like grilling a few rashers of bacon or ham.

They're pretty similar, apart from the fat content. Brie is made with more cream, so higher %fat.
But I am glad you like it :)

I have something similar to this Ninja dual drawered version.

I'm happy with its output, but the design is retarded and this stock image is fake news.

It has these deep drawers that waste space because the manual explicitly states that its contents should only be arranged in a single layer with ample space to allow proper air circulation and cooking.

Which means that only a few precious pieces of protein or starch can be cooked in a batch, leading to very limited outputs that wouldn’t feed any more than a couple.

I did a review of the unit somewhere here on the site.

It's also unbelievably loud due to the blower. Like "I'm annoyed by how deafening loud it is on another floor of the house" noisy.
