What have you recently eaten?

Sampled the delights of haggis in a can for dinner, it was actually very good though if you don't care for liver it wouldn't be so enjoyable. I like braunschweiger and that's kind of what this reminded me of though it's also got that oat texture as well and a different spice profile.
This particular brand doesn't have lungs or organ meats other than liver I think because it's for sale in the U.S and we don't allow sale of lungs. I can't say I'm too upset about not eating a lung but authentic haggis *not* from a can would be great to try someday.

*EDITING 2 ADD: I had some haggis leftover this morning so I scrambled some eggs, reheated the haggis and some taters, added some salsa and made a breakfast burrito, thus inventing Scotch-Mexican fusion cuisine

Somebody brought a few of these in to the breakroom so I grabbed one out of morbid curiosity. The flavor is actually pretty nice, it would be good as a quick post-workout drink if you wanted an alternative to whey and its nuclear-fart-inducing properties but I can't see actually using it as a food-replacement on the daily.
If I suddently start posting about a growing Funko Pop collection or starting fights over Star Wars sequels you'll know there were terrible side effects.

veggie broth. Not even soup. Just the water.
Fuckng savages left me with nothing but literal cabbage water. And I'm too fucked to cook anything. goddamn.
Hopefully the taco encampments nearby get set up post-thanksgiving I don't wanna cook any more and I'm pretty sure my fridges and freezers are fuckinng barren.e

I guess I could also walk a few feet and take some of my food back from my brother's house?

I'm not real big on soup as a general rule but it'd be good to have something light and filling for a change. After eating way too much (including all my leftovers) I legit might throw some vegetables in the crock pot with a bunch of water and some seasoning.

Also I have some chicken bones in the freezer that I need to finally use. I should really throw them in there first and turn them into a stock.

Mrs basso and I went out to this gastro pub. I know inflation is a thing yada yada. But ever have something done up fancy and what it is in it's base makes you cringe on price?

I had a 22 (USD) grilled cheese sandwich! Oh it was bougie as a gastro pub should be. I don't feel ripped off. Had like at least a whole breast of duck confit. Fresh in house bread you know all that fancy hipster shit.

We caught up with her buddy and had a nice time. Definitely reminds me when you go out enjoy it and be thankful you can. Lot of people can't.

An entire quart of wonton soup, 2 little chunks of general tsos chicken and a single scallion pancake wedge because I was too full to eat any more after all the soup.

Worth it though. I fucking love wonton soup and imo Chinese leftovers put in the air fryer the next day taste better than fresh.

Found a grocery store that has these perfect chunks of roast for cheap so I'm thinking about stocking up and making my winter diet mostly beef stew. My crockpot stays running during winter and it sounds wicked comfy to always have some hearty soup on hand. It'd also rock to spend a day doing all my veggie prep and freezing the portions so my meals are just a matter of refilling the crockpot before bed a couple times per week
For tonight, lentils with pork.
