Then he'd be a sports fan obviously.
His obsessions would be considered more publicly acceptable as far as the local area goes. Midlothian isn't a small area by any stretch, but high school sports are still relatively important to the surrounding areas. I remember that my high school put a lot of emphasis on football, especially the year we did incredibly well (attended Thomas Dale HS). Chris would have thrown himself whole heartedly into supporting the local groups and he'd have probably tried to be a waterboy for the football team. Since he's autistic they would have let him help for a few games because schools like being able to show off that they help people with various differences. It's probably what got him his position on the basketball team.
As far as his Internet fame goes, he probably wouldn't have been discovered so soon or at all. But Chris would still be Chris and he'd still end up getting into trouble somewhere. His Facebook friends would just end up getting angry posts about how the local schools didn't allow him to put up attraction signs while he was at a home game or something like that.
What if Chris became a substitute teacher at MHS?
Assuming he could get in, he'd probably try to teach from a lesson plan or just let everyone do whatever they wanted while he played vidya at the front of the classroom. None of the students would really care if he did a free study day and some of them might even think it's cool that he had a game system with them. What would get Chris in trouble isn't his body smell or his creepy demeanor, but that he views males in general as a threat. Even if he tried his hardest, he would still get this pinched look on his face whenever he had to deal with the male students and it wouldn't take long for some of them to try to screw around with him because they could. He'd put up with it, which would get to him until he was forced to bring another teacher into it. I think he may last a day or two for the most part. I don't think he'd do anything to the female students, although he would give them the creepy stare.
The most entertaining point would be him trying to add things into the school lesson plan. I don't know that he'd try to insert Sonichu into it, but I can see Chris googling something and believing the first website he saw, which with his luck would be an urban legends website. He may try to throw some of his own personal family history in there, but offhand I see him being more likely to try to teach the history of Pocahontas as told by Disney.
