Actually if Bay was to make the movie it would be about some character no one gives a shit about. Considering Bay's trope of placing secondary less awesome character as the star (eg: Sam in Transformers and April in TMNT), I'd say he would most probably focus on Sandy or DJ whatever his name is, whilst the real action will be far away in the background. Oh and make Wes the real villian and not Walsh, that alone would make me want to burn the theatre to the ground.

I think I'd end up being fairly impressed, to be honest. It'd be the ultimate prank and Andy Kaufman would rise from the dead (or come out of hiding, if the rumors of his death being a joke are to be believed) just to shake the hands of everyone that was involved.
