What makes you angry?

As a history sperg who is particularly interested in the American Revolution, its leadup, and the years after...I get angry (well, annoyed at least) when people - from all political stripes - cite "The Founding Fathers" as justification for their political opinion as if

A: They were a hive mind that all agreed on a single vision (hahahano), or
B: They were some semi-divine beings with clairvoyance whose words should be heeded until the end of time because a modern nation of 50 states and 300 some million people that's a global influence the likes of which the world has never seen before should be run exactly the same as a country with 13 states, ~25 million people, and that was, basically, a backwater country.

It especially annoys me when it's about the Constitution and when it's for opinions that were not remotely shared by all the Framers, or were directly opposite what was actually adopted in the Constitution.

Now, at least when they cite Jefferson for things he actually said, Jefferson represented a very large bloc of Anti-Federalist-leaning thinkers, but they forget that Jefferson's views actually didn't prevail in a number of important respects, and on top of that, he wasn't even around for the drafting of the Constitution. Although he had a significant influence on that and was more directly involved with the Bill of Rights, the Constitution more reflects the desires of what became the Federalist faction.

This has to be taken in context with the fact that arguably, Jeffersonian notions prevailed in some respect especially after Jefferson unseated Adams as President. But it is a lot more complicated than that.

Not many people in the political realm seem to want to cite Hamilton or Madison (or Adams or Jay or many others). Those who do seem more likely to know what they're talking about, though.

It's been my experience that most people don't know or don't mention any founders outside of the Big Three: Jefferson, Washington, Franklin and even then tend to whitewash most of their lives into easily digestible bios, glossing over contradictory or controversial statements or actions. Unless, of course, they have a political or social justice axe to grind. These men are either Divine Beings or The Worst Scum of the Earth. Rarely are they genuine human beings with actions that conflict with their ideals and complicated legacies.

Liars. Some lies are kind of harmless, if it spares someones feelings, but it also leads to even bigger lies and miscommunication, sometimes destroying whole relationships. I think it's better to be upfront than faking shit.

- pigeonholing / stereotyped thinking
- when someone writes an e-mail LIKE THIS, BUT THAT PERSON ISN'T PISSED OR ANYTHING AND JUST THINKS HE CAN GET HIS POINT BETTER ACROSS THIS WAY!!!
- parents that take loud and whiny children to restaurants
- people that don't think twice about what they say
- when I say "wait I wasn't finished with my sentence" and the other person continues to talk
- passive aggressiveness

...come to think of it, I could wrap all of those up into:
- assholes

Angry? I don't think there is anything. I am more of a slow burning hate kind of guy.

I don't generally get angry but people who hurt animals either on purpose or by ignorance and then refuse to change their ways so the animals don't suffer *cough* Boaman *cough* either piss me the fuck off or make me very sad depending on my mood. I'm especially sensitive to the poor treatment of hermit crabs since they're beautiful animals.

Hypocrisy

People who think that being obsessed with a shitty band allows them to say "music is my life LOL"

People are eager to learn. Looks like you do not put enough effort to understand why people have different opinions.
Spoiler 1: If they don't believe you, they either have information you don't or you made a poor case in presenting it.
Spoiler 2: People that disagree with you are not ignorant.
Spoiler 3: Just because you know more than someone doesn't mean you are right and they have to trust you.

I can see from
People who think that being obsessed with a shitty band allows them to say "music is my life LOL"
that you are intolerant to different opnions.

I make no pretension of being without biases. Everyone has faults. Music snobbery happens to be one of mine, although I do try to improve.

Or they're just dumb. And autistic.

Except a lot of people who disagree with me are ignorant. Plus they're ugly, too. And fat.
