What movie did you see recently?

Yesterday I've watched Guardians of The Galaxy vol. 2 for the second time on TV (I know, I know, what am I, 80?), and while I thought it was a good flick while watching it in the cinema, I've actually liked it even more on my second watch. My biggest problem with the movie back then was that Yondu's death, while sad, didn't make me feel like it has warranted the bloated epilogue, but on my second watch it really didn't feel as out of place, especially with how many character conflicts were also being solved in the scene. Ego was also a pretty good villain. In hindsight I think I'll take back enjoying Infinity War more.

It's always nice when a simplistic flick like this can get even better on second watch, which isn't always the case with these type of movie. Hell rewatching The Last Jedi weeks ago has only made its glaring faults more apparent and what little I had enjoyed miniscule. It's like a bizarro version of Brasil, where with each rewatch you find a new little titbit that just ruins the whole thing more for you.

Dead Silence 1997

Some of the best twists happen right at the end, and a guy gets shot in the dick.
The movie tricks the viewer thinking there's going to be some gory scenes, But it's the ending that that's the real shocker.
Very good movie about hostage negotiation.

Batman Returns.

Honestly why is Batman even in the title ? He must have 25 minutes of screentime in the whole thing. Also Burton is an angsty faggot and clearly had no idea of what he wanted his movie to be.

More of a miniseries, but it spans fewer DVDs than the Lord of the Rings movies : the 1980's "Blue and the Gray" miniseries. Haven't watched it since middle school, and it's hokier than I remember but there's some really good points to it. The music is great and I don't think you can ask for a better Abe Lincoln than Gregory Peck.

There have been better films about the Civil War since, but this one's pretty good in a nostalgic way for me.

I watched Heat yesterday and I really hated the ending. It was interesting how much was stolen from this movie for Grand Theft Auto 5 and Payday 2, but outside from that I actually had a ton of trouble distinguishing between the FBI guy and Michael the criminal. I don't know if I have some sort of facial recognition mental issue but the only thing I could use to tell them apart was one had a mole.

Movie was like 2 hours long and all I wanted to see was not-Trevor get fucking murdered and criminal-with-mole get away. I felt ripped off.

Solo wasn’t that bad of a movie but then again it’s the first Star Wars movie that I’ve seen so I’m not one to judge Star Wars movie quality.

However my friends who have seen the movies were wondering why characters like Qi’ra were even main parts of the movie if they weren’t even mentioned in the main movies.

I watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier again tonight, and honestly it's still one of my favourite Marvel movies, aside from the Guardian ones. I love Cap and Black Widow's interactions together, while the twist about SHIELD is still very well done. The action set pieces are superb and the whole thing just races by, despite the fact it's over 2 hours.

Also, over the holiday weekend I watched American Psycho again for the first time in years. I wanted to see if it still stood up after having not watched it for a long time (it was one of my favourite movies growing up, and got me interested in anything Bret Easton Ellis ever wrote), and fuck me, not only is it still a great flick, but it's actually funnier to me now than it was back then. There's very little of the movie that isn't instantly quotable, and Christian Bale is fucking perfect as Patrick Bateman, to the point I cannot imagine anyone else coming close to being as good in the role. I would recommend the movie to anyone, before I would recommend the book, though I absolutely would recommend it, too. The thing is, there are things that happen in the book which will never, ever get put into a movie, no matter how hardcore the rating. So9 I'd keep that in mind if you enjoyed the flick, and are curious what the source material is like.

Caught the tail end of Blade 3. So Ryan Reynolds just decided he'd play Deadpool until they made a Deadpool movie?

I saw Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey last night, on the big fucking screen!

Our local cinema did an event marking the movie's 50th anniversary by showing it for a week, and because Tuesday sucks I decided to see one of the big classics in 4K!

I haven't watched it in years, and seeing it huge and loud was an experience. I forgot how gorgeous and chilled out long sections of the movie could be. It's pretty obvious there was a hefty consumption of drugs during the production, but it definitely didn't hurt anything at all.

Now, if my local cinema would be good enough to give The Shining, Jaws, and maybe the original Star Wars trilogy this same treatment, then I can die happy.

I went to see Solo monday last week with family, it was fun and had a few cool scenes

I finally watched the Warcraft movie and it was...not bad-ish? It gave me some nostalgia about the first games (not WoW) and it kinda made me salty that Warcraft got an alright movie and DnD got that shitfest movie with knockoff Wil Wheaton.
