What's a TRUE 10/10 game?

Silent Hill 2 is maybe the only game I can think of that I consider a legitimate piece of art. It's one of the only games that has actual complex themes and tackles some seriously fucked up topics in a way that feels mature. It uses symbolism in a way that's often on the nose, but also frequently complex and open to interpretation without falling into the trap of "it like, means whatever you want it to mean maaaaaaan." Seriously, if you're reading this and don't know the wonderfully executed plot twist, play it immediately any way you can and avoid reading anything about the game, it's a very short game. And on top of all that there's an incest rape monster boss fight, if you're into that sort of thing.

Beside that though,
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (the fixed camera improves the original release tenfold)
Resident Evil Remake
Hotline Miami

Tetris.

You joke, but Tetris Effect, especially Connected, is an absolutely 10/10 experience. It started as possibly the best singleplayer experience (unless you're the type that prefers customizable DAS, ARR, etc.), and the multiplayer update/rerelease is unique (Connected mode blows PPT2's boss raids out of the water) and nostalgic (Classic Score Attack is literally Nintendo's NES Tetris (the stuff the CTWC runs on) for the modern era).

also they actually listened and nerfed the combo table, to the rejoicing of the competitive scene

For me:

Fighter: Super Street Fighter 2 turbo. It's by far and away the best way to play the original SF2 series. While a few characters do stand out, the cast is remarkably balanced. The introduction of supers was controversial but the game needed a go big or go home mechanic.

RPG: Morrowind. It proved that an open world 3D fantasy game could be done and done well. The music is utterly fantastic and the terrain design, while limited for the time, showed remarkable thought and design.

Platformer: Donky Kong Country 2. This is the gold standard of platformers. Excellent level design and difficulty curve. Great use of secret areas and pathways. God damn the soundtrack is catchy.

A close second would be the original Mega Man X. Great level design and change in the previous mega man formula. Walljumping, dashing, and hidden armor upgrades just opened up more interaction with the game world and boss rooms. The soundtrack is also legendary. However the main problems with it is that it drops health and extra lives FAR too often and it greatly reduces the difficulty. It's often easier to just do full buster runs than actually using a boss weakness.

Puzzle game: Myst 3. The incorporation of fmv sequences actually worked and added to the world. Fantastic and well thought out world design.

Probably said already but a perfect game is relative, everyone is going to have their own idea of what they consider perfect. For what it’s worth, here’s my perfect game list

Planescape Torment
Legend of Zelda Link to the Past
Super Mario World
Doom
Silent Hill 2

Mother 3. It's a game that just keeps hitting you with awesomeness and then it's over and you're sitting there realizing it's going to be a hard time finding anything this good again.
The graphics, music and story are top notch and the developers somehow made the rubbishy dragon quest rip-off battle system from the first two games awesome while keeping the 2nd game's quirks.
Some people say that the rhythm combos are optional but they're really important. Shielded enemies block your combos and enemies can combo you. The new PKs are awesome with crappy ones like PK Thunder getting much needed buffs or awesome new PKs like PK Counter. The rolling health counter is now slower and blocking halves it's speed making it more useful in gameplay.

If it's so good why does the company that made it refuse to release it world wide?

For me:

Fighter - Tekken Tag Tournament. The amazing feeling you could get after pulling off one of King's 10 hit combo's that if you got it right was unblockable and was an insta kill, with a look of disbelief on your opponents face after it turned into a WWF match with no way to block. That and Ogre and True Ogre's completely unblockable back hand heart grab move. Totally unbalanced in some regards because of that but slides and running into him with enough space between you was also just as unblockable.

RPG: Fallout 2 or FF7

Platformer: Super Mario World

FPS: Final Doom or Quake 3. Nothing comes close to either of them still...

Puzzle: Baku Baku Animal but only the Master System version that was one of the last games released in 1996. Fuck the arcade and Saturn versions. That or Gameboy Tetris.
