Berserk. Miura has a distinct advantage over Martin in that Miura has been making Manga since he was 13(thats not a typo) and has been doing this his whole life. He literally has a good 40 years of experience as a mangaka and the scary thing about Miura is how good he's gotten as an artist the last 20 years. He was always a good artist, but he really grew a lot since the late 90s. If you study the poses, details, expressions, and even lighting of the panels its a lot more mature in whats presented artistically. He even managed to cope with the changes of going digital really well and knew what details to sacrifice and what to keep.

I think part of what keeps me reading berserk these almost 20 years now is how much life there is to the manga. Miura could have chosen to end Berserk a long time ago, gave Guts a happy ending after getting revenge and saving Casca or some lazy Tite Kubo shonen writing. Yet here we are, what 41 volumes of the graphic novel and down to presumably the last 10-12 or so of them and everything in the world of Berserk has managed to become even more unsettling and suspenseful due to The Isle of Elves and the emergence of Falconia.

Theres a real bitch of a storm brewing and its hard to say whats gonna happen next. Especially when Guts still has that Behelit thats never left his side.

I'll take that over Martin not writing or not finishing what he's written.
I think Griffith will die in a more depressing fashion than an epic beatdown, I think it’ll be more along the lines of Grffith doing something that pisses of Void and the rest of the god hand, resulting in him losing all of his kingdom’s protection and power, resulting in Griffith realizing that he is now “king nothing” and offing himself.

My idea will never fucking happen obviously, but my point is that given what we know of Griffith and how Golden Age ended, I definitely think Griffith’s eventual death will be caused by his own ego and self-destructive tendencies catching back up to him, rather than Guts or some other enemy killing him

I honestly still haven't gotten into Berserk, but everyone says I should.

As for Martin...he’s now helping make a fucking Soulsborne, so that’s like one or two extra years of waiting for you ASOIAF fans

So when are we getting an actual end to Hunter x Hunter or ONE PIECE?

My buddy believes that One Piece might be wrapping up in 2 or 3 years.
I don’t know if we’re as close as 2-3 years, but One Piece is definitely nearing its endgame. I think after Wano we’ll get maybe 1-2 more arcs before they finally get to the fucking treasure (which Oda has stated isn’t actually the ending, but rather what TRIGGERS the endgame conflict).

Well this didn't age well at all.
Think of it like this, Miura probably did have an idea or a script for an ending mapped out. The series definitely still feels like its going somewhere and his apprentice may hopefully do it justice without trying to submit to corporate whims or social pressure or undoing the optimistic development the series was heading (if he or the corporate ass clowns do fuck up, well hopefully we get whatever unpublished endnotes or scripts Miura had planned out). Which is more than what can be said for that lazy and overrated fat fuck Martin and his shitty media-tie ins and who will probably never release a last book out of sheer laziness. So Miura still wins out in the end.

My only worry now is seeing how Netflix will fag up Berserk or how its publishers will whore it out.

I wonder if this means that we'll get less hiatuses.
