So she's just giving up on losing weight? I didn't know she was even trying in the first place. If she were to just cut her daily caloric limit down to 1800 calories a day, she'd be able to safely lose a pound a week- this is usually helpful for those with PCOS to lose weight at a healthy weight.

Sure, it takes a fuckton of self discipline but it can be done.
Of course though, that would go against the "body positivity" agenda she clearly has.

I managed to convince my sister to stop watching her show a while back, citing how selfish Whitney is for not using her position to encourage people to strive to better their health. As corny as it sounds, if she made her show about losing weight at a healthy rate and going step by step to show the viewers what she does throughout let's say, six months, it would probably be helpful for women with PCOS. A lot of those extreme weight loss shows often have people losing pounds at an unhealthy pace, something which most TLC viewers are unaware of.

Whitney is a terrible role model through and through.

Whitney is giving up losing weight, huh? Well maybe she can "maintain" her 400 lb figure at her current intake - but on the show, she also does a tremendous amount of working out. The fact that her intake and binge levels overtake her teaching a couple dance classes per week, doing rehearsals for dance competitions, AND working out with a crossfit style trainer a couple times a week... I mean, she's got to be eating almost 4k calories per day on average.

When she gets injured due to her weight again - that's when, not if - she's headed straight for a very special episode of My 600 lbs Life. The show has been a morbid documentary about a woman in deep denial and her merry band of enablers; it's actually really well edited to highlight her delusions subtly enough that she doesn't notice in her self-absorption. But the climax of the show will be when she's utterly unable to even slightly maintain the fiction of "fat and fabulous".

I have to echo @entropyseekswork on this one. Being overweight may be due to lack of discipline, but being super morbidly obese? That's not just sitting on the couch eating chips and cookies weight. I find it unlikely that a person gets to 500 pounds without some serious mental health issues. Eating yourself to that weight is pretty much textbook self-harm.

It often seems like people with eating disorders don't technically get better, they just swap one for another. Some general lolcows are the people who praise "recovered" anorexics who get into body building.

That's because initial treatment, rightfully, focuses on the dangerous behaviour like binge eating or starving. It's then much more difficult to address the underlying causes of the behaviour, so some patients would rather pick another eating disorder or poor coping behaviour than to dig in to the issues that led them there.

Take all the BS on the show about her fitness regime with a massive grain of salt. She puts on a show for the few weeks per year the show tapes, it also only shows small tidbits of those "workouts." It's very important for Whitney to give the impression she's very physically active and fit due to her HAAS propaganda campaign so she certainly pushes to producers to push that angle - even if it's not true. The fact that when they take her to do other activities on the show, that don't lend themselves to a easy set and shooting schedule, that she gets into problems. I would say her actual physical activity/workouts is about 10 to 15% of what the show tries to portray.

I agree it's heavily overstated, but she does do much more physical activity than your standard 400 lb whale. When that stops, she's going to pile it on even further. This isn't even her final form.

I didn't see this posted here. Apparently this was also on her show. Just after the 2 minute mark it looks like she's spent. I don't know how many takes The Fitness Marshall does when filming but this routine is pretty tame compared to some of his other ones.

Lots of jazz hands with Whitney's "dancing," and lots of avoiding lower body/leg moving.

It's painfully obvious how less emotive her dancing is compared to the others. Even without audio I can tell that they're hitting the notes, following the beat, and telling a story; next to them, she looks like any other fat girl at a wedding, desperately trying to get the attention of the only single groomsmen.

She starts losing steam only about a third in to it. Halfway through you can see she's tired.

Ironic, considering that she takes up a third of the frame with her...um....frame.

Looking through a couple videos of her on YouTube, and I can't help but get annoyed everytime she brings up having an eating disorder and pretending that she managed to "overcome it" and is wondering why no one takes her seriously when she says that.

Reason no one takes her seriously though is because she still has an eating disorder, albeit she must consume at least 4000 calories a day.

It's not fatphobia to point out that you went from one eating disorder to another one.

I swear, bitching about "fatphobia" has to be the very definition of a first world problem.

After thith routine her muthleth mutht have been way thore.

I'm surprised no one has posted this response video she made to some fitness instructor two years ago. She sits there and blames her weight on having PCOS... while sipping down a 500 calorie Starbucks drink.

As we all know, her diet is complete shit. We've watched her constantly go into Starbucks on her show. Those drinks often are up to 800 calories, just from all the sugar content in them.
