Who's responsible for the state of modern CWC? - A discussion.

He was pretty much already a delusional fucking idiot at the time he was first noticed, i.e. the Crazy Pacer era. He had at best a tenuous grasp on reality, believed cartoons were real, and other nutty stuff and already had no real friends who weren't paid to socialize with him.

So even then he was basically living in a Truman Show type bubble where his life and social relationships weren't real.

Then trolls took over and his already tenuous grasp on reality was pretty much severed. This is a guy where it is shit that actually occurs in reality that he goes on "dates" where a dude in a pickle suit runs off with his girlfriend. This shit actually happens to him. Even a normal person would be fucked up by that.

It's all of the above. If one thing were different, the entire situation would be different as well. What if Borb were good parents? What if Chris had never seen the ED page? What if the state took action regarding the house? What if Barb's family didn't hate her? We'll never know for sure, but it's a safe bet that maybe things would be different. Emphasis on MAYBE.

Most of people who have given an answer here are correct in some things; like in history and politics, you can't say shit happens for a single reason.

Chris' fate was decided the moment he was put inside Barb's womb. Not just because of the Sonichu dirty genes and the conservative southern parents: society and technology took care of carving the path that Chris eventually would take, yet nobody would predict how things would turn out. ¿Barbara and Robert? They were old people with their own problems and ways of thinking. ¿Weens, trolls, white knights? Well, they're no experts in psychology.

¿And Chris? We can't deny that massive ego of his is not genetic: I know some autistic guys who are too busy spergin' over Assassin's Creed to be insufferable selfish jerks; still, we can't tell for sure this is Chris and only Chris' fault. Autism predisposes him into one strict way of thinking (aka "Special snowflake treatment" by Bob and Barb) that becomes a routine, hence, a comfort zone for autistic folk. Chris' autism prevents him from adapting to society, let alone taking control of his life.

My point is, this slowly-moving trainwreck is everyone's fault, yet nobody's at the same time.

On a side note: from what I know, Chris got his taint infected and is slowly transforming into an eldritch abomination. Why is everyone saying that he cut that himself? Did I miss something?

I thought I'd make another topic since its a question that I find myself thinking about when we talk about Chris, especially in light of recent developments. Which party within Chris's life did the most damage to him? There are 4 key people/groups that have interacted with CWC (and the man himself)

Chris- He's done nothing to acknowledge his own mistakes and has taken no initiative to fix any of his problems. For years when a obvious rake is placed in front of CWC he would valiantly walk into it. Many times he would react in ways truly bizarre and learn nothing. However he has autism and you cant ignore that. It could have been blunted by...

Borb- Chris's parents have been a near total detriment to his life. Not only did they keep crucial therapy from CWC when he was younger due to bob's superstitions, they have taught him only bad life lessons and passed on their worse traits. Also they chose to do nothing about...

The trolls- Once entertaining prodding quickly became a council of individuals that managed Chris's life and increased the border of his delusions far over the horizon. Horrible things were done to CWC that were no longer funny as much as obsessive or creepy. Think the Bluespike incident. They were no replacement for CWC's...

Extended family- Cole has been absent from CWCs life. Probably for good reason since borb's behaviour was notorious. He didn't try to help Chris much thought, like....

The State- The government has left Chris and his dysfunctional family fall through the cracks. However there is a limited amount of action they could take due many factors.

While it would be dishonest to ignore anyone listed (especially Chris and borb) I wonder if there's a party ultimately responsible for modern CWC. What does everyone think? Is there a actor that should be exonerated or completely condemned? Should different groups share the responsibility more?

I weight The trolls more because of the girlfriend sagas. I know Chris knows a few were trolls but how many does he still think are legit? It's like a significant chunk of his life exists in an alternate reality individual to himself and managed by trolls.

I'm sure Chris has seen the CWCki. There's also plenty of indications that he browses kiwifarms now and then (if only to see what those dang dirty trolls are up to now). If he doesn't know they're all fake at this point then the only conclusion I can come to is that he's retreated into a complete fantasy land (but we already knew that). It's hard to tell what kind of emotions are swimming around in Chris's head day after day, how he really looks back on all this. What he writes and what comes out of his mouth is scattered and incoherent at best. People often point out that Chris seems to "bounce back" whenever shit like the bluespike thing happens. Personally I don't think he does. I think he just bottles it up and tries not to think about it. Chris is a very avoidant personality. He'll pretend his problems don't exist before he comes face to face with them.

I think all the years of humiliation and having his ego systematically torn down over and over again is taking its toll however. I look at the Emily date for example and I really can't imagine how absolutely fucking terrible that must have felt. That's not even the first time Chris thought he had a date but it turned out somebody was fucking with him. Being lonely sucks enough by itself, being lonely and knowing that hundreds of people around the globe are watching you be lonely and mocking you for it and occasionally going out of their way just to make you feel bad? That's a new level of agony.

I feel like chris is the way he is because of his parents. Nothing will change the fact he has autism, but like it has been said before on here, that doesn't excuse a shitty person.
There have been people with autism who still turned out to be superstars compared to chris

I'd say all of the above except the extended family, who rightfully stayed the fuck away. Just look at how Chris treats his next-closest kin, his half brother Cole, constantly begging for him to come take over caring for Borb (and as we know now this almost certainly has to do with the financial shit she got both of them into and Chris wants to dump it on somebody with money...enter Carnegie Hall rent...).

But sometimes I wonder what would have happened if, waaaaaaaay back when, the teacher who told Chris he could not use Sonic as a licensed character had instead either played hardball and denied Sonichu, or decided to let the pain in the ass kid get away with it on a stupid minor art project in school. So much of Chris's life ended up incorporating that yellow bastard and ultimately defining his imaginary CWCille. What if the teacher had not inadvertently allowed the concept of Sonichu to ever happen?

Ultimately I think it's Bob and Barb for not sending him to a specialist school, I think Chris had the potential to be as functional as A-log who also has autism but went to a specialist school.

But to be fair to Bob and Barb they were old and not able to properly deal with or understand Chris's autism (It was just a newly documented condition and back then you couldn't just go online and search for more information) but it has lead to Chris not being able to handle a mutual friendship which I think is what's caused most of the problems in is life, if he had a buddy or two growing up he'd have learned about social norms and hopefully would have had a chance at living a semi-normal spergy life.

Trolls helped him initially in a round about way because he was incredibly naive and might have fell for a more serious scam but has learned to not blindly trust people although now it's unhealthy with Chris being surrounded online by asspatters who are supportive of even his self mutilation and other delusions.

Another group I think has affected Chris is his high school galpals, unintentionally they have gave him an unrealistic expectation of friendship and even romance (Mostly because he was too naive and autistic to see their relationship for what it was and still thinks if he had realised he wanted a girlfriend back then he'd have his pick when in reality it would have likely ruined their relationship like it did with Megan), I bet Chris would be shocked if they met up again for a reunion since they've likely moved on and have jobs and/or kids while Chris still has similar interests and goals aside from the lovequest and gender issues.

We all know the answer, its a combo of shitty parenting, and Chris himself. Now when it comes to the trans thing chris might legit have a gender disorder, but I think it may also be due to the fact that he had no male friends to socialize with growing up.

I'd say that the state tried to do the right thing, and much of the blame lies on Borb for fighting anyone who tried to get CWC help when he was still a child and stood a better chance of learning how to live a normal life.
