Seriously I want to know where this came from and why it came about? I'm not an expert and I'd like to hear your TRUE and HONEST thoughts on the topic.
Why are trannies hated by the rest of the LGBT community?

Because trannies represent a minority of LGBs so into their sexuality that they want to become the opposite sex, which is construed as the ultimate form of oppression.

I think it is because they want people (including LGB people) to actively do something whereas LGB people just want people to not bother them

Because they're histrionic emotional wrecks completely useless for doing anything while demanding all kinds of special treatment and spewing hate at the rest of the community, especially gay men (who actually do most of the useful shit). Plus they make the rest of the community look like nuts.
This is pure stereotype of course but there's something to it.

if you want to fuck someone of your own gender, who cares. you're not deluding yourself into believing you have a woman/man's "spirit" or brain and trying to abdicate reality.
also it's disrespectful to both sexes. look, even if you got all the surgery and hormones in the world, you don't know what it's like to grow up as the opposite sex, and you never will. to suggest that butchering yourself and taking pills suddenly grants you that insight is an insult to men and women everywhere.
that said, it's your life. if you find people to humor your psychosis and can function without being a spazz, it's really none of my fucking business. just don't ask me to validate that.

Is this actually a major thing? I don't think I've ever been in a LGBT community that doesn't at least tolerate transgender people. There was the "Drop the T" thing a while back, but that was started by a particular fringe of conservatives and got roundly criticized by all the more liberal groups.

The LGB parts don't always get along either, some gay men and lesbians have problems with the opposite sex and don't want transgender people in gay/lesbian areas because they don't see them as being really male/female.
Also if the transgender people are like ADF and friends you can't help but feel sorry for them.

I assumed it was because being transgender is not a sexuality and some people feel it is jumping on the bandwagon as it were.
Interestingly im sure many black people feel the same way about LGBT people joining civil rights marches and events.

It's because trans people are by their very nature mental cases.
I mean ultimately gender dysphoria is a mental illness, and generally speaking mental illnesses like to bring 'company' with them. You know where there's smoke there's fire etc. Although seeing the amount of tranny lolcows on this site, I'm sure that's not really a shock to anyone here.
There's also the fact that 'coming out' as transgender is still way harder than coming out as gay, leading to the more "normal" trannies to hide their gender fuckery to avoid scorn or embarrassment (also they tend to avoid telling people their trans once they've transitioned since it kind of defeats the entire point of changing genders). Of course that leads to the most vocal trannies being the likes of ADF and our very own Buffalo Bill which only feeds into the whole idea that coming out means guilt-by-association.

I know a lot of this since I'm a tranny and experienced a lot of these same things myself. Like it's scary as fuck to come out to your family when their only knowledge of trans people is porn and fucksticks like Bruce Jenner.

I have actual historical information to give, @chimpburgers, but I'm on my phone and it's long, so I'll be back later.
Asking "what lead to the current situation" and speculating why those things happened are kind of two separate questions, I think. I kinda feel like personal interpretations of what "trans" is aren't a complete answer, like a lot of the above posts.

I honestly have never heard of LGB's "hating" transgender people irl. Like, never. I think spending too much time on this forum has made everyone believe that what happens on the internet represents a large part of any given community. Taking it too seriously, y'all. Chill.

And let's pretend that the split is 50/50 and not 95/5 like it most likely is. So that's about 5 million mtf trannies in America. Deadliest year on record, how many died? 21. Not 21,000. Not even 2,100. 21. Twenty one.
The death rate in America? 6.2 death per 100,000. The mtf tranny death rate in America? 0.42 per 100,000. If we include ALL trannies, that's 0.21 per 100,000. That's 15 to 30 times lower than the murder rate of the general population. The vast majority of those murdered were, surprise surprise, minority prostitutes who dealt with all of the risks associated with the job and side stuff like drug addiction and lived in the ghetto etc...
And still, being a tranny means that you're 15 to 30 times less likely to get murdered than the rest of the population. Statistically, the safest person from ever being murdered in America is probably a white tranny who works in IT.
Oh and while they ask to be under the LGBT umbrella, they never actually give a shit or participate in actual LGB causes that are not centered on trannies, too. All their care about is their community, because it's all about them, really.
So in light of that, we're supposed now to believe that trannies are the most oppressed minority in America, and we need to do a whole upheaval of society because a minority that's (actually even less than) .3% of the population is screaming about how they are getting murdered every day for not being allowed to use whichever bathroom they feel and how it's the new civil right struggle? Let's not forget the fact that whenever a tranny gets on television it's always a batshit crazy one or one who doesn't pass and it makes the whole LGBT movement look like gay pride parades all over again when they are more busy trying to get their weddings catered by christian pizza shops than walking down mainstreams in assless chaps nowadays.
That's why there's a growing movement in the LGBT community to drop the T from that abbreviation.

Because you shouldn't know who's a tranny and who isn't. The whole point of transsexualism is to become as close to cis as possible, and in doing so being able to live as a woman or man or whatever. Bringing up that you are transsexual completely defeats the purpose of transitioning because then people know that you are indeed far from cis.
The only trannies that people hate are the self-obsessed cunts who constantly bring it up every fucking chance they get like it's small talk or something like that. It's like, imagine if I had a big lump on my right side, but I didn't want anybody to know it existed, so I got surgeries done and all of this other shit to make me as close to lumpless as possible, but then, I literally take any chance I can to talk about my lump that nobody cares about.
If you want my honest opinion as a cis person, you should just keep it to yourself and only talk about it when you need to (for example, let's say some guy has a crush on your or some girl likes you or something like that)
