why are you still single - and general discussion of the dating game

Metokur is 41 I think.
Then more hope to those who are old.
I'm a loser sleeping on a floor, Metokur is a minor internet celeb/influencer. Any sort of fame/clout gets women dropping to their knees.

What even minor niche podcast fame gets a mofo.
Yea but not like people know who he really is until recently in the past 2 years since anonymity is a big thing for him, Keemstar and Dax would be recognized by women who drop their knees for the two . Who still don't know even know what he really look like despite his name and address doxxed to the public.

I don't know if this qualifies as alpha, but the most successful I've been with women is when I've been indifferent to them, like platonically. I incorrectly assumed my girlfriend was off limits when we met and then she gunned for my dick. I think just being their type + not appearing desperate are the only things that really matter.
Generally speaking, eligible women are used to being pursued by men, often men below her standards. When a man is indifferent to her, it tends to spark questions

1. "why isn't he paying any attention to me?"
2. Is he in a relationship?
3. Is it solid?
4. Is he gay?
5. Can i get him to notice me?
6. Is something wrong with me?
7. Is something wrong with him?

Not all of these questions apply all the time. It also depends on whether or not there is mutual interest.

point is, indifference doesn't send a woman any signals to interpret. Also, US women tend to take silence and fill in those blanks themselves with anxiety. Lots of women fall for a weak man that put up a strong act long enough to make them doubt themselves.
are dating apps even worth the effort? i’ve used one once, only kept in touch with one person from there. i value my privacy, i don’t know if it’s even worth the risk honestly. what are your guys experience?
Typically dating apps are the bottom of the barrel. A potential interest in real life can't catfish you or use filters to hide their flaws. It encourages people to commoditize dating in my opinion.

Don't fall for the pretty facade. The type of women who will pose in a photo like this are usually chasing clout. They don't love him and they'll be gone the second his money and platform is. Also none of them look happy except the one bent over and she is clearly self-promoting.

it seems useful to find people with similar interests and lifestyles, but beyond that it just feels really fake. it seems like the only option

That's why you go do shit you enjoy IRL, and eventually you meet potential interests there. One benefit is that it's a lot more effort to actually go do things you dislike (vs just saying you like something on your profile to attract attention) so it's far more likely you share a genuine point of interest. Also the out-in-public nature makes it easier to get to know someone through repeated encounters. And if nothing happens, at least you got to do something you genuinely enjoy.

I've dated perfectly attractive, intelligent, decent women and every time, I've found it to be more of a bother than it's worth. There's a huge amount of implied obligation in a romantic relationship and what I derive from them doesn't justify the time and effort and expense involved.

Getting laid regularly is nice, but it isn't compelling enough by itself and I get almost nothing out of companionship or emotional support or intimacy.

With the risk of outing myself as an autist, I'll post here saying I just haven't dated someone who's worth my time.

Haven't been on a date lately where I really enjoyed my time and I didn't feel like I need to show off like one of those birds doing their retarded little dances.

I have been dating only online due to corona in the past couple of years, but maybe things are due to change? Unlikely, because in my field there's 1 girl for every 50 guys.

Single by choice I suppose because I've given up in the dating field as a gay man. Everyone is in an "open relationships", even couple who are engaged/married still let their partner sleep with complete strangers. Monogamy is very much the exception and get remarks made about or directly at me because I want to be in a closed relationship and don't use gay apps such as Grindr or Scruff for hook ups. They'll go as far and make it personal by telling me my weight lifting progress is fake because I take vitamins and supplements (which doesn't make any sense), but then will turn around at the drop of a dime and tell me how in "so cute", it's jarring. You're not allowed either to point out things for noticing such as how monkeypox only effected men who have sex with men or have a different political opinion. It's all so tiring so I prefer to spend my day going to work, weight lifting then sit at home watching a show or video games. Don't even get me started on the pup hood bullshit.

me? im a socially awkward weirdo autist with no social skills who lives in a smallish town(small population == fewer opportunities. when i have tried dating apps it tends to be a pretty small pool of women in my area.) and i have neither the money nor looks to make up for my deficit in social skills.

There are some surprisingly blue-pilled takes in this thread. I did not expect it of the farms.

Incel theory, barring a few exceptions, is correct. Looks aren't everything to a woman but they are the most important thing by a mile. Good face, height, non-skinny frame. Someone said that 28-45 are a man's best years. That's laughable. Pure cope. Do you think a 23 year old girl wants 25 year old Chad or a 44 year old middle manager who's bought his own house?

PUA is useful but only to a very limited extent. If you're an ugly low status manlet, no amount of confidence is going to make her sleep with you. At the other extreme, if you're Gigachad, you can approach her with your willy in your hand and it won't put her off. However, if you're in that 10% pool of decent looking blokes who can get girls if they play their cards right, then yes, basic PUA teachings have some benefit. Don't act like a sperg, be confident, dress well, be flirty etc.

Where men are concerned, if given the choice, they will choose the best looking woman, although do give more consideration to personality than women do when forming a long term relationship. (Women clamour to get with paedos, rapists and murderers if they're good looking or high status). Men will also put their willies in anything meaning there's no such thing as lonely women; only women who can't get Chad, and even he'll pump a fat girl if he's got a few hours between Stacies.

Unironically with my soul-mate for many years now, so no I'm not. This thread was amusing to me though, especially when a few of the resident stormfaggots admitted they're afraid of girls after chest-thumping about related issues in other threads. Hahahaha. XD

Some of you other people need to chill out a bit. I mean beyond the autists who think they're better than anyone else (great cope), a good partner should be your friend in addition to the sexual relationship. Some of you just seem to think a healthy relationship will develop out of thin air after a date like on a teenage sitcom or something. It doesn't work like that unless you just want a hook-up. If you don't have friend like chemistry with the other person, you will never be in a real relationship that will last. You need to focus on developing a deeper bond beyond the physical. Without those other elements of the relationship, it will eventually fail, but you should have been aware of that because there was really nothing else keeping you together anyways.

I must make money and do college but if I don't and try to get gf then I'll fail what I've been building up, but if I don't get gf then I feel lonely again and have paranoia back. I feel trapped.
Aren't you a girl? We both have careers and it's not a problem. I don't know why having a gf would fuck with your schooling/money making when she probably would be going through the same stuff. I mean yeah it can sometimes be hard with the lack of free time, but mutual understanding will help with that.

Nah I’m a dude (lol you’ve been bamboozled) and that post was a while ago since I got a gf again, I just needed time and patience to find someone. To be fair I have a family of retards myself included so I just wanted to get away in order to really be able to think clearly.

Okay, I just only see you posting in the lesbian thread. My bad. lol

I want what my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents had, but I really don't have much to offer and I want to be better off money wise before seriously going after someone. I don't really see the allure in fucking around.

I really never had a girlfriend. I had a fling with a girl or two, but I just kinda found them grating and we really didn't share any hobbies or beliefs. I envy my brothers and cousins who are married because they really make them happy.

Yeah, realistically I think that's most of the problem though.

Unless a relationship does materialize out of thin air, how else will it happen for a lot of people? You meet 100 strangers a day for a few seconds each, many of them you never meet again, a lot of people don't exactly have much opportunity for exposure.

There's all this cynical talk, we have the incel guy a few posts up there, when to me the #1 hurdle has always seemed logistical. The most romantically successful people aren't the ones who are necessarily the most attractive or suave, they're the ones with the most exposure to the opposite gender.

Photographers for fashion models, straight men in stuff like hairdressing or dance, etc., they're basically never single.

So it's true, in fact if a relationship materializes out of thin air imo that can be a bad sign. Some of the women I've been most fond of kind of annoyed me at first.
It's just that people don't get enough chance to be around each other to get accustomed and for relationships to develop organically, and the modern world puts a lot of strain on relationships that do exist.

I can't stand normies. Going into any "geeky" spaces is just normies+ nowadays with extra Reddit (I fucking detest TTRPGs and most popular video games), and doing the more outdoors stuff I like has the opposite problem where my niche interests are completely alien. I'm always on the edge of being far too weird yet at the same time well-adjusted no matter where I go—sure I might meet someone who likes hiking/fishing/foraging and such, but are they going to tolerate me sperging out over vinyl toys and dolls? Fuck no. And that's not even getting into my extreme political positions.

That, and I'm pretty sure I'm asexual, or at least a severe schediaphiliac.
