Why do leftists support Palestine?

All of the leftists I know support both Palestine and Israel. Why must there be an exclusive side to favor? It isn’t a sport match

I have never seen a leftist in my life who genuinely would support Israel.

What goes around, comes around. This was the stance they had 20 years ago, back when they had the same reasons for disliking Israel that the non-GOP Right have now. Strange shit happened since, and they were sucking circumcised cock during the Obamna-Trump years, and now they're back to Free Palestine. If you want a quick answer, it's for the sake of convenience. Democrats only get elected when they drum up support for some kind of social movement. If they have no sword to fall on, no hill to die on, then they lose to Republicans who take advantage of the people who want things to stay mostly the same/not get worse.

The reason doesn't matter, it's simply that they do, American Politics is a zombie and this is all we're allowed to have.

Israel made their own problems by becoming dependent on land and water rights in the west bank and the Golan heights.

Three pretty big reasons that come to mind:

• The establishment, mostly supported by Jews, had their narrative of "brown people good, white people bad" backfire thanks to this conflict consisting of brown-skinned Palestinians fighting off pale-skinned Jews.
• The parallels between apartheid-era South Africa and Israel are extremely hard to avoid noticing, and Apartheid is practically viewed as the work of the devil among leftists.
• The fanatical devotion to Israel presented by evangelicals, neocons and RINOs ensures that some leftists will support Palestine purely out of spite towards conservatives.

It's pretty obvious that Israel is cleaning out Palestine's clock. Disagree with me but I don't believe in this Hamas crap, I think they're a small organization. It's just an excuse to bomb out Palestinians lol. The "Hamas is bunkering under hospitals" stuff is ridiculous. Israel just wants to bomb those hospitals.

It is a genocide, let's be honest with ourselves here. But I don't want to see a sea of Palestinian refugees coming to the west either to be honest. This is probably what this shit is going to eventually result in. Other Muslim countries need to step up and take these people in.

Yeah, it's pretty blatant that this whole conflict is just an excuse to push the Palestinians out of Gaza into Egypt, and then not let them back in because they're technically not Israeli citizens. Therefore making them stateless (since Israel doesn't recognize the existence of a Palestinian state), and forcing Egypt to look after them. Egypt will then dump them into the hands of NGOs who will ferry them across the Med into Europe.
Coincidently, a lot of these NGOs that bring migrants from North Africa into Europe are run by dual Israeli citizens. Really makes you think...

Inconsistent standards, muslim apologia, anticapitalist anti-Semitism, many things. If they cared about Palestine getting colonized they'd care about Tibet and Taiwan which were also colonized after the formation of Israel. If they cared about land back they'd care about Pakistan and Bangladesh which were also stolen from the Indian subcontinent. They do not care, they just care about people getting colonized by people who aren't them. And that only applies to explicit violent colonialism, not demographic replacement colonialism like with Britain or economic market colonialism like with Japan which do not exist. Even if Chris Hitchens was a socialist, he at least had consistent standards in saying I don't like Israel but Islamism is one of the worst things ever conceived.

The far-left never liked israel, they viewed it as a colonial western state from the start because, well, that's what it always was. Plus the original PLO palestinians were a mostly secular socialist-aligned group so there was the ideological connection (fun fact: fundies like hamas were actually supported by israel itself). The soviets despite zionists being mostly socialists and the kibbutz being practically socialist communes (israel didn't go laissez-faire until the 80's because of bankruptcy) aligned with the arabs because the west aligned with israel first, plus arabs like nasser and the ba'ath party were also semi-socialist but more importantly would buy tons of weapons from the soviets and pay with hard cash, win-win compared to the always begging greatest ally who hasn't not even once sent troops to any of our wars.

Anyway, the modern turbo-woke left has even less of a reason to support israel. Decades of unironic anti-white hate makes it impossible for them to view a bunch of mostly-white jews killing very brown arabs as a good thing, even if some palestinians are christians which makes them human filth for the left, they still get a pass because they are darker.

As for the contradictions like the muslim's tendency to test the aerodynamics of gays from great heights and the tensile strength of feminist necks with ropes, well consider that many hardcore lefties have defended some of the hard-right semifascist dictatorships of LATAM...........because said dictators aligned with the soviets and traded with them after Carter abandoned realpolitik and went hippie-mode. Yes, the soviets had no issue dealing with guys who were killing commies by the thousands because the real problem was us not selling them grain and boycotting other trade because of the invasion of afghanistan. And while the USSR its over similar contradictory orders still come from the lefty hierarchy, like supporting the religion of peace who wants to violently murder their asses.

Yes, and the Egyptian government is already angry about the prospect of taking them in. They're refusing. So you guessed it... They're going to Europe. This is the Syrian refugee situation 2.0.
