Sunshine gets hate but visually its one of the most interesting Mario games. The tropical flair is fantastic. Also not only can you spray every character with FLUDD you can jump on them too.

The hotel is probably my favorite level. Only because it genuinely feels like a story unraveling

Sunshine will always hold a special place in my heart but FUCK collecting those stupid coins that boot you out of the level.

That damn village level where you have to mission impossible underneath the village like.......
 
High quality autism.

Mario Galaxy is my favorite Mario game just below SMB3. Had a lot of fun with the physics. Would long jump and endlessly orbit some of the oddly shaped objects with gravity. It filled me with autistic glee.

Also I just enjoy fantasy space that isn't full of pure sci-fi.
