Why the same ugly actresses seem to be in everything? - Debra Wilson, Zendaya and probably others

Famous ugly Asian actresses (eg exaggerated narrow slanty eyes, moon faces, square faces) that no Asian male finds attractive and that Hollywood pushes onto the world:

...at least they're not fat.

Famous Asian actresses that are also considered attractive by Asian men (and women):
Don't forget Kelly Marie Tran

Hilariously this is who they picked to play her sister in the Last Jedi who gets killed after a few minutes of screentime

Really hammers home how they're doing this on purpose.

Mai from the Netflix adaptation for Avatar Last Airbender looks like she ate all the airbenders

I think it's because Americans love underdog stories.

Unfortunately sometimes they can't tell the difference between underdogs and bottom feeders/lucky losers.

RE: Asian actresses above: I feel compelled to bring up in this thread the drama with YongYea and ProZD kvetching their way into voice acting. (I respect a shitty film actor/actress more than those two because at least "real" actors/actresses are expected to get up in front of a camera whereas too many Youtubers are slacker nobody pieces of shit who think that just because they can say a funny means the world revolves around them).

I do expect an actress that plays Chani to be pretty or at least have chemistry with Paul, which was not the case in those movies.
Late but zoomies can't have chemistry with anyone, especially not each other, because they don't leave the house. Chemistry's just not a tool actors in that age group have, same way silent film actors wouldn't have natural movement as a tool in their process.

The costume & makeup departments did her dirty on Star Wars dressing her with a potato bag and that goofy hairstyle.
There is no need to have a doll'd up female soldier but when your actress got a mean case of moon face, act accordingly.

I hated how she could slim down for those awards shows, but wouldn't for the damn movies. She was absolutely enormous in Rise of Skywalker and I think that's why they shoved her in the background.

It was Disney's chance to portray a super sexy & hot beautiful Asian woman in Star Wars and they chose someone worthy enough to wear a potato sack.

Kelly's identified herself as a "queer" years after RoS, oddly enough.

The wonders of angles and hairstyle to hide her moonface. The frumpynized version of her in Star Wars is undoubtedly deliberate by Disney, especially when compared to her sister who gets killed off minutes into the movie.

Ugly actresses are cheaper.

You have a compelling point.

What did they make fun of her about?

Also, Paris Hilton (dumb rich Blond) was also a safe acceptable female target by all sides back then.
Paris was showing everybody her vulva during the middle 2000s for fame. Everybody was very much justified.

being sexualized in the bayformers stuff. moviebob and lindsay ellis especially hated her back then
I am shocked Linday hated the most desired women of the time back then.

Didn't she leverage her "leaked" sex tape controversy into starring in a reality TV show with Nicole Richie?

A low quality pixelated sex rape seems almost quaint and conservative compared to what whores need to get ahead these days.

Maybe in the past. Post Weinstein we just get the ugly nepo babies
You are nuts if you think trading sex for success has gone away. It will never go away. It's just different people doing it now and pretending to be virtuous.

Depends on the industry but post #MeToo it's way too dangerous, especially in Hollywood where the majority of the whore cases were. You'd need to be insane to drop from the level of actresses 20 years ago to what's currently on.
