Wikia / FANDOM - The ugly result of giving aspies control of their own wiki websites

I take it this whole wiki was meant to be a prank of some sort.

The Empress Theresa Wiki, a wiki dedicated to documenting the sperging of an author who hates having people criticise his 'magnum opus', Empress Theresa. The author himself frequently shows up in the comment sections of the wiki's articles, and, as you might have already guessed, gets into frequent arguments with the Wiki's editors and admins.

This video does an excellent job detailing the author's strange behaviour when faced with constructive criticism, and should give some light to the author's sperging as well.

"Anime Bath Scene Wiki" is exactly what is says. In its 5800 pages it documents every bath scene from every anime known to man, as well as maintaining extensive lists categorizing every type of bathtub, spa, bathing method, bath contents, and many more categories that you are not autistic enough to think of.

The whole thing can be summarized with this one picture:

The person responsible for this autism has made an average of 20.6 edits every single day for the past 8 years to this wiki.

I brought this wiki up a while back. But the bit about categories bears repeating, so I'll just repost the screenshots I took.

Have any of you guys ever been to Teletubbies Wiki? Just listen to some of the trivia it contains:

"Tinky Winky was the boo shouter in the UK Version. Po was the boo shouter in the US Version."
"Po was the missing Teletubby."
"The US Version has the Follow The Leader Dance and Morning Exercise 2 instead of the Animal Prade and Time for Tubby Toast Segment."

Gotta love the typo and random capitalization in that last one.
But as bad as that one is, it's not even the worst of the autism that permeates this site. Check out this article:http://teletubbies.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lion_And_Bear

The wiki is obsessed with these two characters. I am not even joking.

I don’t know about you but I find that to be extremely important lifestyle information.

Wikia's greatest problem is ironically one of its greatest features.

The bar for access is way too damn low, not just on a reading and editing level, but also on a community creation level.

Wikia is obsessed, for good or ill, with gaining members and letting new wikis be grown for the sake of more places to plaster ads for more revenue.

While good for that goal alone, that means it's so trivially easy to start a wiki and contribute to them there is literally no filter on clientele. On a technical level all you have to do is register an account and press a button to shit out an automated wiki setup.

Registering accounts and even editing from IPs is so easy to do you can use proxies and VPNs to make evading permabans a laughably easy joke.

On a purely optimistic level, I get why, they fulfill their immediate goals. On a realistic level, curating out cancerous communities is a nigh impossible task.

Okay, I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but you know that History channel series Life After People?
There's a fanon Wikia that was made to get spergs to stop shitting up the actual wiki with their shit.
Said Wikia has pretty much nothing to do with the show and is instead endless sperging about what if the Five Nights at Freddies shit, Jurassic Parks (yes, that is plural) and vampires survived the apocalypse.
