The Outsider Trailer Sees Jared Leto Becoming A Yakuza

Netflix may be knee-deep in the sock-just juice, but it doesn’t mean that they don’t sometimes have interesting new content that pops up every once in a while. One of those interesting new projects looks to be free of pandering toward the Intersectional Inquisition, and instead it focuses on showing a badass American adopting Yakuza traditions and becoming a badass American gangster in Japan.

For everyone tired of the recent push to have multicultural sociopolitics at the forefront of media, you’ll be glad to know that The Outsider focuses more on getting back to the roots of telling a masculine story about an American soldier who was imprisoned in post-war Japan, but ends up staying to become and adopt the ways of the Yakuza as a means of repayment for earning his freedom. You can check out the trailer below.

This is one of those slow burn-looking features where it starts off methodical and paced and ends up going through the ramping up phase to introduce viewers to unbridled amounts of sex, violence, stabbings and gun wounds.

Majority of the people are excited about the project and it has some good upvotes on the YouTube page.

Comments are also predictably positive toward The Outsider given that it’s a well put together trailer that doesn’t give anything away, has excellent cinematography and great use of scene lighting and contrasting the dark attire and dreary atmosphere with the poker faces of the well-illuminated cast.

Of course, there are a few comments from the typically perturbed pundits for the culturally offended, leaving remarks in the comment section to spark controversy.

Obviously he was shouted down for being an “insecure” little man by people who simply wanted to enjoy the trailer and are looking forward to Leto’s outing as a leading man in a Japanese-themed Yakuza tale.

Director Martin Zandvliet could have a slick worthwhile picture on his hands when it releases on Netflix starting March 9th.
I'm pretty sure that it's just a movie, brah.

Movies are fundamentally a business enterprise, and no one goes into business for the sole purpose of pissing off SJWs, MRAs..etc.

Unless they're Sony, of course.

Is he still mad at Sony for releasing Ghost busters dyke reboot? The worst GamerGate hang-ons are the ones to stick to oldest grudges despite them having become meaningless. Still thinking Gamasutra is some sjw anti-gamer hive and not a major gamedev community where Leigh had limited influence even back as she worked there and most content is gamedev insider articles and announcements, be it business or technology. Being still mad at Kotaku despite pretty much everyone exceptional to have ever worked there having moved on to another shithole as the site itself is slowly declining into mediocrity. But they still act like gamergate is still a thing and there's some big official boycott bringing them victory.

The hanger-ons are indeed autistic enough to dwell on all this. Everything they see is related to the culture wars in some way.

Just check OneAngryGamer.net or KiA and you'll see what I mean..

Btw, am I the only one to notice that Subnautica sold quite well for an indie? Despite earning their ire for firing that sound designer.. It seems that the SJWs are not the only insignificant side in this thing..

The Subnautica incident happened after it was already out on Steam for almost three goddamned weeks. It had already gained acclaim, even back when it was only in early access, so a ton of people who were gonna pick the game up already did so, based on what they had already seen. This wasn't like the somewhat-comparable Yooka-Laylee incident which happened before the game was released and far enough in advance that a boycott could actually happen and hit the game in the wallet.

The thread on 8Chan and the Steam group show it off better. They're still making giant elaborate infographics that nobody will read, developing websites and lists that document of dev/journo sins like being left wing and still adding to their army of gamergate characters to be friends with Vivian.

It's obviously less about unethical journalism and more about the "culture war".

It's a strange thing. I theorize that for some of these hanger-ons the gamergate "movement" is where their support network for friends developed. It's kinda like people that join a guild in a game and only continue to play the game so that they can be with their guildmates.

A common thread with all the GG orbiter communities is that none of them really have the kind of penetration the bigger "central" communities in GG had (and still have). The Gamergate steam group has just over 3000 members, which might seem like a lot, but it's a fraction of what GG's larger communities had. Hell, KIA alone has over thirty times that number. KIA, for all its Autism, tends to show periodic outbursts of self-awareness, mostly because it has to rein in the worst by the very nature of being one of the biggest such communities.

When you think of "GG Hangers-On," KIA really doesn't belong on that list, because for all its flaws, it recognizes that the War fucking ended. Indeed, lot of the sorts that are trying to act like it's still a thing just flat out would be unwelcome there, if they haven't been banned from it already. In fact, most former GGers wound up stepping away from the battlefield after the proverbial war. It's important to note that the real hanger-on communities never really stepped down from Autism Holy War mode. In many ways, they're just like the opposition: Stuck in the past on a conflict that ended ages ago, that they are completely irrelevant in, and that your average person has no fucking idea about.

Just compare the outrage's impact on a game's sales and reviews when the outrage is caused by inherent flaws of game, be it shit optimisation or game outright sucking, or bad business model, and when it's caused by culture wars. Wolfenstein II reviews on PC are worse than consoles not because PC gamers are all Nazis but because to this day it runs pretty bad on many computers. Firewatch or Kingdom Come negative review bombings don't even compare to Payday 2 or GTA 5 once the userbase got sick of the money milking and hackers.

After reading those comments, I can safely conclude that these guys are living proof that anti-SJWs can be just as bad as SJWs.

Extremism breeds extremism. Have one group be on the recieving end of a bunch of shrieking idiots who want to fuck everything it cares about up, and watch as that group develops its own vocal underclass in response which is just as caustic.

Why else would you have things like horse-shoe theory? SJW's are by all means annoying but their anti's can be just as exceptional tards. It is funny though to see them both clash over shit everyone else isn't really going to care about beyond maybe seeing both as equally spastic.

Rate Me Optimistic: I'm still hoping that they'll get so caught up in each other that the spastics leave the conversation entirely and rational people can take over again.

That would either take some time or just end up being a pipe dream. The spastics will never really leave unless they were somehow banned from the discussion.

Honestly, the spastics would be ignored save for people hoping to capitalize on them.

Autism never changes.
