Which makes me think that Wizardchan is just an amalgamation of really negative female stereotypes and very little original thought. Like they'll see a family guy skit and think "Ah, so that's what women are like."

The fact of the matter is, like we all stressed several pages ago. Most people have to deal with things like social anxiety and depression, it doesn't make you special and it only makes you look worse when you refuse to rise above it.

To their credit, pretty much all the things they've listed as "advice they get from normalfags" are completely and totally unhelpful for someone with social anxieties and/or insecurity issues.

Except the "go to therapy" one. It can be unimaginably difficult for someone with social anxiety to approach even a therapist for help, and therapy won't do any good if you're completely closed-minded on any advice the therapist may give you, but if you have the means to do so, seeing a therapist who is qualified to work with your issues and being receptive to the help said therapist tries to give is absolutely the best thing the wizards can do to improve themselves/their lives.

And don't let one or two bad therapists discourage you. I went through tons of therapists who were either terrible or just unsure of how to deal with my problems before I finally found someone who worked well with me.

They think all their teachers were normalfags that had sex as teenagers, and that all their therapists are normals working for the big normalfag elite. Yeah, getting told to 'just be yourself' is about the most unhelpful thing imaginable, and really kind of condescending. People who have never had social anxiety issues are awful about giving advice to people who do.

The best advice I ever got was from my mom, who is so ridiculously extroverted that you'd never believe she used to have social anxiety issues. As she puts it, "Don't be yourself; imagine the person you want to be, and pretend you're that person. Eventually, and this takes a lot of time, you'll be that person."

And it's true.

I've met numerous people in wheelchairs that have jobs I would like to have, and I only ever imagine how hard their lives were, and how hard they had to work inorder to get beyond their disabilities.

Nope virgin is worse.

The one thing that confuses me about that metaphor is that if you beat a game on it's hardest difficulty, it's more respected than if you just beat it on easy. That should be a sign that if you really think your life is on "hard mode" maybe you should try winning, then everyone will congratulate you more.

One of my favorite movies is Rocky 3, mostly because it shows the once confident hero having to lower himself and learn new things in order to fight Mr. T, and it has a really good montage toward the middle where at the start he isn't doing so well but toward the end after a lot of practice he has mastered everything he has been taught. And it's because he has started to believe he can win, and that winning the fight is worth doing. Indeed during the actual fight at the end of the movie

I'd refrain from advocating suicide. It's not something that's worth joking about and in this case I feel bad for the families of these people.

However most of us don't even have a foundation for a pyramid. We're so far away from the end block we look towards the end block because it signifies that we built the rest of it too.

I am 26 and I think I am subhuman, at best a little child, due to my virginity.

My other achievements do not matter. I will never feel mature, an adult, till (if ever) I get it.

I feel bad that these people have such tainted perceptions. How sex is so much more important for them than anything else.

I don't even need to talk about it since I think they're aware they have such narrow vision. Null mentioned to me in MiniChat that on Wizardchan they don't even allow for users to swap contact information to each other under risk of being banned for seeking friendship. It's not strictly mentioned in the rules so I don't know if it's true (and I'm not going to go to the effort of testing this theory out since I have better things to do than post on Wizardchan) but if it is true it really highlights a major problem with the site. Not only the fear of being "normal" but also not even being allowed to co-mingle with your fellow misfits outside of the site.
