Words & Phrases DSP Has Invented or Misuses - DSP'isms that make you say "HUUUHN?!?"

A favorite of mine is when he panics and wants to lash out but his gin-rotten synapses can’t fire in time so he double-dips on the insult leading to things like “stupid idiot” like when he said Philsanigger and chat called him out on it.
I'd argue it's because what he wants to say is a "hateful slur" and is only realising it as he's about to say it. That and he thinks say more words makes him appear smarter.

"Held in revier"

What fuckface wanted to say was probably "held in reverence", but what do I know I'm not a valedictorian that speaks Latin.
When did he say this? Wondering if his brain was too gin soaked and he slurred.

I like his definition of hateful slur as well. Twitch probably has a bullshit definition for it but this retard thinks hateful slurs only mean racial slurs. He probably doesn't understand calling people fucking morons and idiots is what got him sent to banworld.

I think he understands the situation a bit more than lets on. He was catching himself calling people retards and stopping himself partway through. I think a lot of denial is due to having forgotten what he's said in the past and that he can't bring himself to admit that he did anything wrong.

AlphaOmegaSin once called Phil a "rage-quitter" and Phil's mind went right to the fighting game context, which is indeed not a thing with him. For all his embarrassing behavior in fighting games, Phil has never RQ a match, that I know of.

However, because of that, it explains why Phil went right to that form of "debunking", because there, he had a point. He knows he doesn't when it comes to other genres because, as you noted, he then comes up with alternative excuses based on the game. He left that part out in responding to AOS, and it's obvious why: AOS is smart enough to see through the bullshit excuses Phil gives when he drops a game. We know this because AOS wasn't talking about fighting games, he was referring to all the others that Phil quits.

Phil knows he's a rage-quitter, he gives this away by getting tilted over being called one. Which is why LTG is more based than him, because he owns the shit. Though he makes excuses, he doesn't lack the ability to admit to what he does in response to "stupid developers" or whatever. He considers RQs to be justified, and I can almost respect that he handles the criticism so much better than Phil ever has or ever will.
He has RQ fighting games in the sense that he raged and stopped playing. He doesn't go into the PS menu and close software mid match but getting mad, taking your hands off the controller and yelling "Just kill me!" over and over at your opponent is both raging and quitting. He has definitely done that.

Of course, only Phil's definition is the correct one. The funny thing is, slurs in itself aren't really banworthy. Twitch wants money, they will usually keep you. Some streamers slur jokingly, and you usually recognize that by their usual behavior. Or they mean it, but with good reasons. Or they fail hard like a Phil, but everyone can have a bad day (and they also apologize).

So Twitch framed his misconduct perfectly, this made me laugh the most. What sets him apart was: In their investigation, they found repeated instances of hateful slurs.

Twitch personally looked at him.
This wasn't a rare instance.
They understood his intentions perfectly.

Phil can't accept when someone pierces his protective shell. Twitch decoupled his beautiful fantasy from reality and destroyed his narrative (Twitch loves me and my content), a narcissist's nightmare.

I think he doesn't close the game because he is shit scared of having to face any consequences for doing something like that. If he knew he could RQ without consequence, like he can with single player games, he'd be far more willing to go full low tier god.

That, or Phil takes some weird pride in not stooping that low, because it's fighting games. He does compliment his opponent, which is such an odd thing to see him do, but he does it. Or at least he did, I'm talking about footage from like 2019 and 2020. Not sure about 2021-2022. He kept saying stuff like "Good parry", while fighting Gojitenks, of all people. Didn't sound fake, either. Of course, he then ruins it with the rest of his behavior.

But that's what has me thinking there's a weird pride thing going with him and fighting games. It's like he has rules, that are all his own, and he actually abides by them, because his ego would bother him if he didn't. Because it's fighting games, and he wants to be sportsman-like, just doesn't have the best grasp of what that actually means.

There have been matches where he complimented his opponent, and then they crossed an invisible line and he started saying that what they were doing didn't work offline, was pattern play etc.
It feels arbitrary and not very genuine to me but maybe he does mean it and then gets salty.

Dont forget he literally pulled the plug in the middle of a PvP boss in one of the souls games too. But he will say that wasn't a RQ some how.

He usually only compliments people if he's in the middle of a good streak. I've only ever seen him compliment someone he lost to once, early on in his Tekken 7 online. This is generally why he's remembered for his salt, the moment someone has his number, he looses it.

I've seen that, he was accusing the player of "cheating" by being way beyond Phil's level even though that's not how it works. Was also so long ago that Phil could still grow a real beard and was with Leanna, and so he has probably forgotten that he even did that.

Just imagine the amount of salt he would have if RQ in one of his beloved fighting games had consequences, like a ten minute timeout or something.

I'm sure he would just sit there on the menus the whole ten minutes bitching and moaning about it not being fair though.

This made me do a double take. If you want to put an apostrophe in “nuff said,” it clearly goes in front of the N, for the omitted vowel. DSP’s apostrophe got lost and is waiting on the tail of the word like an asshole.

I'm more hung up on the "return", as if he stepped away from Elden Ring long enough to warrant using that word. He has been sucking that tit like he should've done to Leanna's.

I've noticed that he says "It sure would be nice if..." when begging for tips, 100 likes, and all that. I don't know about you people but I don't believe I've heard that phrase being used as a statement of sincere hope for something. It's always something I've heard as a sarcastic remark like "It sure would be nice if my boss wasn't such an inconsiderate jackass!" or more commonly as a setup for a comedic punchline in cartoons or comedies, where the joke is usually the thing happening immediately after the statement.

The way Phil uses it almost feels to me like he believes that by saying "it sure would be nice to hit the tips goal" he would then look at chat and get notification that he got a $500 tip from seven different whales. Almost like some weird manifestation level bullshit.

Man, I'm starting to think he doesn't know what Grassroots Movement means. Which is weird, because he started out right. Talking about how there was a group of people that really pushing and forcing to grow a community of fighting games. Which, and I'm kinda grasping at the origin. The phrase comes from the idea that if you have barren land and you want it to grow into an ecosystem, the best thing (or at least believed to be best) is to grow grass. Because a proper lawn will see all kinds of plants and greenery start growing. But grass can also be a bitch to get started and growing. And isn't uhhhh natural. As in you have to put in work and do it deliberately. Which is how you would describe the FGC at the turn of the century. A lot of people really putting in time and effort to make people come in and play competitively. Especially, as companies weren't gonna help these guys. Very grass roots.

But now, as I've been watching this video. He keeps using it. And I don't think he actually understands what it means. He just keeps tossing it in when talking about the FGC. As in the FGC is just called the Grassroots Movement. Capital G Capital M. It's fucking amazing

ADDENDUM:
As I was typing this out. I had some fucking detractor content. And now we know he doesn't know what "Self-explanatory" means. What he means is, signposted. And it's really funny because it keeps cementing that whole GoW video that those devs made on him. Because he really just can't figure things out. He has to look for the stupid little cues on where to go next.

From his ER playthrough he seems to use hotboxes wrong. Hitboxes generally in games refer to a enemy or player and where they take damage, run into shit, etc.

Philly boy seems to think hitboxes should be taken quite literally and assumed they are for his weapon, so anytime he misses he goes WTF DOOD MY HITBOX WAS RIGHT ON HIM!

I think Phil is frequently blind and retarded when he complains about hitboxes, but I don't think that that description of them is wrong.
MBTL_Tohno_5A_hb.png
The green boxes here are Shikis hurtbox and the red boxes are his attack's hitbox. If an enemy red/hitbox overlaps with your green/hurtbox, you get hit.

Phil has mixed up hurt and hit boxes before, but he probably knows the difference and just mush mouthed or brained.

There are also collision boxes which refer to the walking into shit part you said.

His mistake is thinking that he can aim or see to begin with.
