Words & Phrases DSP Has Invented or Misuses - DSP'isms that make you say "HUUUHN?!?"

I don't know why I always compare Phil to Yugoslavian apparatchiks but him talking about his Catholic values is like when Yugoslavia collapsed and they had to invent new "left" and "right" wing parties in the newly balkanized states. In the case of the "right" wing parties the formerly atheist, card carrying members of the party rebranded into the most devout Christians who ever Christianed. The Orthodox converts acted like they were more holy than the apostles while the Catholic ones acted like they were more devout than the Pope. In reality, they didn't even know how to even do the sign of the cross or the words to the most basic prayers like Gloria Patri.

It is a very apt comparison, if somewhat obscure for anybody outside of Europe and under a certain age, unless they are history buffs that have an interest in the breakup of Yugoslavia.

Honestly I think he might have thought about it, but then you have just how exceptional he is about anything gay and how he think we might be having a field day with that.

Sure it might be something to milk for pity bux, but his fragile ego would not be able to handle the banter that would come (duhuhu) out of such a story.

Those are so ubiquitous in the US that him knowing them proves nothing. "South Park" re-enacted the Job story in one episode and Jonah being swallowed by a whale (not sure what your native language is but most English translations of the Bible say "whale" so it's hard to knock him for that) is fairly well-known. It's only half a step up from him claiming he's a Christian because he knows Jesus was crucified.

According to the lore he came pretty darned close: In his own telling one day in church he asked the other parishioners why they were just singing and praying in Mass instead of going out and helping people. When nobody could give him a satisfactory answer, he came to realize the Catholic Church was full of it and just stopped believing. This..... really doesn't hold up since most Catholic churches do homeless outreach and prison ministry, just not in place of Mass. My understanding is that Mass is intended to praise God and celebrate the Eucharist while helping the needy is considered a "good work" (their term not mine). Good works are needed for salvation in Catholic teaching in addition to Mass so the idea that nobody at the church was doing this on his/her own time is just silly.

I cannot recall how old he supposedly was when he had the totally-real epiphany or if he kept attending because his parents made him but you're certainly right that he would probably have gone full fedora if he were a couple years younger - he certainly has the attitude but was too involved in FGC stuff to care about other things when internet atheists like Dawkins became big.

Edit: In Phil's telling the real tragedy of Joyce Salvagno (his gout aunt) moving to an old-folks' home in ~2016 was that she would not be paying his Connecticut mortgage anymore. Whining about being dragged to church instead of going to the arcade seems decent by comparison.

in all honesty, phil probably stopped going to church when he was old enough to stay home by himself.
likely when he was about middle school aged. he probably just slept in on sundays, or played his super nintendo
he likely got some continued biblical exposure at the catholic school he went to.

These reeks of fake and gay from Phil anyways. It has all the telltale signs of being yet another trumped up lie from him.

I don't know the origin of this lore but I expect he was talking about how much of a nice guy he is or charity work he wanted to do or something and brought this up because of some unknown grievance he had with his fellow parishioners. There is no way Phil would ever do actual charity work with his church and just made this up as a way to get at them and make himself look caring and thoughtful.

Of course this is the same guy who was paranoid about junkies shooting it up in a Burger King alley and lives in a gated community.

Do we know what church Phil went to in CT. There can't be that many Catholic churches in his area, one of them should have a website and probably has details about charity work.

Fuck he is so incredibly stupid. How do you not know how basic time works? At best he should have been crying he took way too long using his own 'work' math.

It looks like Phil is trying to bypass this by using this "Ultra Low Latency Streaming" mode because he says it stops Closed Captions. I don't know much about streaming, but I can't think of any reason why he would use this unless he is aware of PigPigGo's tool.
