World of Warcraft Rank 1 Player Reckful Commits Suicide

What the fuck is happening to the gaming community as a whole right now

When everything is political...

Why would you encourage someone who already has big mood swings to take drugs. It can be bad enough if you're normal.

I'm reading something related to this. It's focused on autism, but I'm going to go out on a limb that he was on the spectrum.

tl;dr, substance abuse is really common in people with personality disorders (especially so in certain gaming communities) for lots of reasons that will seem incomprehensible to normies, especially if they have a disorder that can make them recklessly dis-inhibited and making regrettable decisions.

Ouch! Friends let me make a humble request. If you do at any point feel the need to An Hero yourself. Please do so in a way that is neat and considerate of the poor souls that have to find and clean up the mess. Just please avoid leaping off high places onto concrete. Or even worse busy highways. If you feel the need to jump off something, find a bloody bridge over water. It’s more environmentally friendly. Suicide is an inherently selfish act, but doing so in a way that leaves a huge mess that needs to be cleaned up by people getting paid way to little to be dealing with your area effect splash damage is among the worlds biggest dick moves. Don’t Do It!

Nope if you have to suicide your best world is to make it pretty clear to the world why you did it and use it as last act of spite. Your reason for suicide is you lost job ? jump out of window in front of boss after telling him how he ruined your life. If you dont have guts to go shooting have the the guts to do suicide properly.

I hate the current trend of it, but I honestly wish this asshole got cancelled/metoo'd.

Hypocritical of me?

Yeah, I would probably agree, but cliffyb annoys me in a way that no other in gaming does. He is worse than yandev, Druckmann, those assholes that made Sunset and every gaming journalist combined.

He have/had talent and were involved in some good games, but it is not worth that attitude he had to begin with, and somehow he managed to only get more dickish as time went on.

That happens if you play sissy games...

Mittens lost millions of $ of Goon money, is a joke everywhere but SA and he still didnt kill himself..
Mittens is also a huge narcissist and a grade-A shirtlord, so I don't think the comparison is apt.

Bipolar's a mood disorder if I didn't skim over the thread wrong, but it's semantics when talking about the connection between mental illness/disorders and drugs. Good article btw.

Jesus Christ, shit just seemed fucked mentally for that guy, damn.

I hope the healthlygamer guy gets called out. i like him and his work but he did a 6 parts crash course in psychodynamic therapy with him and then just left him hanging. He was gonna take it private but wasn't licensed to practice in Texas where reckful was. The whole thing was unethical from inception in terms of publically providing therapy, saying you aren't, while broadcasting.

I always find spite deaths to be pointless. If you can’t watch the fallout what’s the point?

My condolences. That's all that really should be said if you never knew the person who passed away.

Cliff wasn't someone I saw as a particularly decent individual even before his time in the spotlight had faded, he was always the kind of smug piece of shit who memory holes the goodwill of others for the benefit of his ego.

There is something seriously wrong with gamers, not all, mostly the ones who do it for a living or anyhow competitively.

Way too much shit has come out recently, way too many are autistic or mentally ill or degenerate or creeps or all of the above.

Someone should do a study.

R.I.P in World of Warcraft.

I've talked to people with bipolar and it's usually the men that say it's hard for them to speak up about it since they need to hold the guise of being strong. One said that it only increase the mental suffering and silent screaming he suffers making it harder.

If anyone you know is no longer suffering in silence- no matter how normal they want to be treated- reach out to them. This study may be out of date, but people with bipolar are much more likely to commit suicide than those with major depressive disorder.

I hope his family is doing alright and my condolences for the loss of this legend of WoW history.

Cmon chaps, the important moral question here is whether or not there is going to be some big funeral/memorial event on a PVP server

Because If so, I think its high time for a beloved old warcraft tradition to make a triumphant comeback...

EDIT: Aaaaaaaaand I just realised how you could epix trullz a non PVP server funeral for the guy.

Have a whole bunch of people show up to the event and then kill themselves by jumping off their flying mounts from high up at the centre of proceedings so that the solemn proceedings are interrupted by a rain of naked neon haired gnomes splattering onto the virtual coffin
