World of Warcraft

The Night Elves are evolved Trolls that become Elves because they hung around and the Well of Eternity for so long that it changed them. Then during the Azshara trying to fuck Sergaras War of the Ancients thing there were a bunch of elf factions and one group was essentially decided to sail off and leave their weird Night Elf brothers behind. They had a vial of well water though and tried to create their own wells when they hit the Eastern Kingdoms in their boats. The first well turned into old god sludge in Tirisfal Glade, and then the moved north where they created the Sunwell. Whereas the Night Elves became druids with their tree that was grown on their makeshift well, the High Elves became day walkers who used a traditional well system.

Then the High Elves joined with the Alliance to fuck up the trolls and taught humans magic. Eventually the Scourge happened and their original well blew up to bring back Kel'thuzad at which point the faction split again with High Elves staying with the Alliance as seen in Classic WoW and Blood Elves joining the Horde. The Blood Elves are mana addicts that essentially used a Naru to feed their addiction and also drained demons of their mana which is what gave them the green eyes. So the big difference between High Elves and Blood Elves is that Blood Elves are mana junkies that continue to just find new things to suck off for mana, the High Elves are just their well adjusted cousins who live with humans. Sort of how there's the Night Elves and the High Born.

The Blood Elves being part of the Horde is why Zul'jin didn't join the Horde with the Forest trolls, he's still pissed at the High Elves during the troll wars with the humans back when they were High Elves.
We have the Raventusk tribe

We have the Raventusk tribe
The Raventusk are in open war with the other Forest Trolls who joined the Hakaar fun time squad.

Though more on the point of Blood Elves vs. High Elves, the Blood Elves are basically what Fel Orcs are to regular Orcs, or well regular Orcs to Maghar, as their essence has essentially been changed significantly from all of the shit they sucked off for mana.

I also don't buy the bullshit that they can't put out Naga because of mounts and leg slots, the Taurens and Trolls already negate the shoe models and really most people don't care about the pants and chest slot as long as they get the helm and shoulders right it will be fine. As for the mounts, just have the tail wrap around the abdomen or hang off the side if it's a really big mount, it's an easy solution.

I'm also not a fan of the whole "every race added has to be uniform" it's fine to have stuff that has different looks and doesn't display everything. The chest and pants pieces outside of bikini armor are shit in WoW.
You say that, but the 2% of players who play the furry race in FF14 still won't shut up about the lack of headgear and hairstyles even though they knew this limitation when they picked it.
People get really upset when their fetish race is limited somehow

Why would getting new races and classes really matter if the underlying systems and game have been scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of creative, engaging design for half a decade? It's like putting perfume on a cadaver.
There are some people who aggressively live out their lives on MMOs. More on XIV admittedly but WoW probably has their share of terminally completionist as well. To them, new classes and races = more chances to """immerse""" themselves.

I just wanna vent for a few secs:

Dear God nowadays I just want to be able to play an MMO that's actually fun. It doesn't have to be groundbreaking, it just needs to be fun and have an actual playerbase, but apparently that's way too much to ask. I 'member when WoW was kinda fun, but with every new expansion it just seemed to get worse (I started in MoP).

I had a lot of fun during early Legion when I raided with my Guild, but those days are long past. Last time I joined a Guild was during BfA and while I could handle the fag shit in-game I couldn't fucking take it coming from my Guildmates. Where did all the fun people go? Did they all get banned for interrupting in-game BLM protests? I just want a comfy guild but the game is so shit by now that all the cool people seem to have either left or trooned out because they got too mazed in the game. I'd gladly get mazed again if it meant I could run dungeons and raid with some decent people, but apparently I'm way too much of a Chud to have fun with nu-WoW.

I want to have hope for the game, but the fact that the "new" race is literally 3 remodels that use some old-ass rig just fucking confirms that the game is doomed for me.

Fucking California

It was like that guy that was investigating all the wikipedia admins and said "chances are whatever you are reading was written by a transgender furry communist"

They still play their gay furry race though. That's the thing, people will bitch about certain shit but it's better to give them the option with the hope that they'll one day be able to equip their dildo helmet than to not even let them play the race. I didn't like that Trolls in WoW had fucked up feet instead of shoe models, but I still played a Troll as at least one character until Goblins became an option as that's the only race that matters in the game.

It doesn't really change anything but their lack of introducing certain races and options is part of the greater reason why the game is a corpse. They turned everything into some shitty system that by the time Tanaan Jungle came out in WoD it was nothing but a bunch of daily grind hubs with not much else going on. They're so slow at making content and so risk averse at making content that's different that they sunk the game.

I agree but WOD was the shit for me, the stories in the individual zones were awesome but not the ending.

I will also mention WOW had its best music in Siege of Orgrimmar and Warlords of Draenor

WoD brought back a lot of players because of the lore and concepts, the leveling experience was pretty good and the Raids were fun, but pretty much everything else was missing, so once you did the main campaign quest and started raiding there was nothing to really do. They also cut a raid tier, and one of the big patches literally just gave us a selfie cam, which pissed people off even more. They also changed the ending last second so that we all of a sudden just became friends with Gromm for no reason.

Oh, and the RNG was retarded. You could have the same opening and pull on the same boss and see an over 10% damage difference based on how lucky you got, and in Mythic mode this could really fuck up an attempt if too many players hit the low end of their luck. There was also the problem that once a raid tier came out, all other tiers became meaningless, but that existed for a while, however because High Maul and Black Rock were the same tier in theory it was even more pronounced as Black Rock made High Maul pointless. Though I might be salty because we were just about to start on Mythic Imperator when BRF came out, so I ended up missing out on that fight.

I liked all the raids, on lfr. *sigh*

Dude, just download weak auras or whatever replaced that and find a guild. I was a Combat Rogue for High Maul, and that shit was awful, so much so that having Assassination for Twin Ograns felt like being god mode. I was too stupid for Sub Spec which just made Butcher miserable, but at least there were plenty of Huntards to make me look good.

BRF was good shit for me though, I think I actually parsed in the top for some fights on the server for a bit.

Dungeon finder isn’t a problem by itself, but it’s an enabler for the sweatiest of behaviours if the game is primed to reward them. Other games can and do have similar mechanics, and still have lively communities besides.

Warlords was the biggest wasted potential in WoW in my time playing. On paper, it was an interesting concept: an opportunity to experience Draenor before its destruction, to explore its lands in a (relatively) unsullied state, to meet characters that hadn't really been seen since the early RTS games. Like you said, those concepts brought a lot of players back because their prospects were intriguing, and many wanted to see how it would all play out.

Instead, it fell victim to Blizzard's endless quest for more money as they tried to shift to a yearly expansion model part of the way through development. Multiple chunks of content were cut out entirely, like the ogre continent that was supposed to be to the southwest (and is still visible in the map), the Shattrath raid, and the island of Farahlon, all because they couldn't develop all of it and still have the next expansion out in a year. The players' negative response to the lack of content likely played a factor as well, with the devs deciding to cut their losses, end with only one major patch (I'd honestly forgotten about the insult that was patch 6.1, the fucking selfie cam patch), and rush to Legion as fast as possible.

And despite all the cut content, they still missed their one-year target by nine months, with patch 6.2 lasting for fourteen months. Fourteen months of only a single raid being worthwhile content, and pretty much jackshit else to do.

At least they learned not to try and pump out expansions that quickly, and Legion did have a decent content release schedule. But it still hurts knowing what we could have had if Blizzard hadn't been so retarded. Then again, that's pretty much WoW as a whole, isn't it?

They pulled WoD out of their asses to tie the game to the movie during a time they were trying to do yearly expansions. Legion was supposed to happen after MoP, Wrathion got shafted in favor of Khadgar and went missing for no reason when he was supposed to unite the factions against the demons. It didn't pan out as expected and they decided to ditch the expansion to focus more on Legion.

I've decided to play Burning Crusade classic and I have to say no quest markers made the experience enjoyable so far.

The only people who still play WoW with any regularity are vanityfags, furries and the like who use the game as a gateway to ERP with futanari Worgen. The addition of another furry-bait class is actually a massive selling point to these people.

I've considered doing BC classic because that's when I jumped in and also when I jumped off. Would be good nostalgia. Worth a couple months just to fuck around or nah?
