World of Warcraft

I just wish those fucking faggots at Blizzard would have listened to the people who were saying that the existing servers CLEARLY weren't going to be enough. Or maybe gotten this faggy layering thing working well enough to coast on the servers they have.

I get it, most of the people playing are gonna drop the game once they remember what no-lifing the game is like, but what else are you going to do, have like half the playerbase unable to play? They got top of Twitch streaming, tons of people trying to get into the game, this is the BIG time for them to cash in on the hype and instead you have all the streamers bitching because they got kicked into a 4+ hour queue.

It's like watching a slow-motion train wreck, and wondering if anyone is going to do anything about it, and hoping that they can get the Activision cock out of their ass for two seconds, but deep down you know they won't.

Alright, I probably got to lvl 7 before anything. First thoughts:

1. Sweet jesus the starter zones are insane right now. If you're not actively looking for groups, you're not getting quests done. Plus, several quests (like the scavenge in deathknell) can't even be done in groups due to singular looting.

2. People are more social off-the-bat. Not having gigantic quest markers everywhere you go really makes for a good way to spark conversation

3. I actually died while under level 20. This is the first time that's happened to me in a long fucking time. I love it

4. Zeppelins (and probably ships, by extension) are completely fucked though, at least on my server.

It's a lot more tedious, difficult, and forcibly social than ever. And compared to nuWoW, that seems to be a great fucking thing. Going to let this game time run through but I've got a good feeling I might resub for this

Made it to level 6 before being booted into a 90 minute queue so I might as well post my impressions here

-The starting zones of the less popular races are fine. I didn't have to fight over mobs as a Tauren
-People actually talk but not as much as they used to. Maybe they still used to retail.
I can't really comment on the difficulty because the game is still really easy at such a low level. I'll say it's still harder than retail since there you can chainpull mobs without ever stopping until you reach the higher levels.

They should have promised free transfer from low-pop realms in 5/6 months in so people don't have to worry about their server turning into a ghost town and queues could have been avoided.

I'm surprised by the lack of outrage and autism-salt about the chaotic release. I guess everybody expected it and understood that preparing for this would have been insane.

What are all the Classic players going to do a couple of months from now, when they realize that vanilla didn't just hand you everything and they actually have to work for shit? I can't imagine WoW's current player base is going to enjoy that for very long.

People still play Runescape 3 so I imagine people will just go back to shitty WoW.

I think its been funnelled into other servers. EU has had like 3-4 new servers created. I moved over to Ashbringer for that reason.

The lines are the most reddit thing I have ever seen and the people spamming "Respect the Line" are the worst type of player
Agreed, but they were a good way to filter out the lemmings while I got a group of people ahead of the curve.

On that note, I've been sucked into playing this with some of my family over the last few days and does anyone know why it is so fun?
I mean the mechanics are really outdated, the quests are really hard to follow, I barely know what I am doing, but it is all still some of the most fun I have had in years gaming.

because it feels like a real mmorpg and not some mount collecting dance dance rotation simulator? I hope next expansion they learn something from this. Fuck fire the damn story team to hire more people to fix their shit.

What would they do if you just cut in line? You can't really fight your own faction, and it's not like they could report you for doing it right?
The worst they could do is try to "blacklist" you from the server community, but if you are a Tank or Healer or even just a good DPS I seriously doubt it would matter 40 levels down the line.

Edit:
Under 2000 Queue hype

They perform a citizen's arrest where they surround and lecture you on mmorpg etiquette.
Its what I do while im leveling my rogue, people get mad but its better than waiting in a line for like upto 30 mins

I guess autists with self-imposed rules and codes end up in every game, then. I remember getting a bunch when I used to play DeS/DkS games that whinged about not having proper 'duel etiquette'.
