Video game redesigns are hit and miss.

For instance, the PlayStation 3 style.

Going from the Spiderman 3 font...

...to a more basic design.

I like the back cover, but the front just lacks personality compared to the Spiderman font.

Now this is just soulless and lazy. And it looks too similar to the PS4 template.

Agreed hated the redesign that came when they moved on to the slim model. I also hated the slim model for being a cheap PS3 being introduced when the PS4 was out. I like my consoles big so i love the original PS3 over any of the slim iterations the model that replaced the "fat" was still good looking. But we lost backwards compatibility with the PS2 because few people cared. Can't wait when Sony does it again with the PS5.

Any time a soda company brings back a retro logo for a limited time and i go what the fuck is this why did you break consistency. This isn't the WWE when i'm watching old matches on Youtube.

I think Banjo and Kazooie's redesigns in the third game are genuinely some of the worst to ever hit plastic. Replacing big emotive eyes and soft curves with sharp angles and beady eyes feels like textbook "do not do" shit for a cartoon mascot. And the fucking human teeth, always with the human teeth.

Also old Mickey Mouse-looking Sonic is infinitely more likeable and appealing than the gangly "haha irony" current one.

To be fair, Freddy Krueger was technically a burn victim (after he escaped jail time the angry mob set him on fire and burned his house down and then he became a ghost/spirit/whatever), but the old version looked fine!

Depends on the region, i think it had some elves too but Here in latin america "choco krispis" always had Melvin the elephant as mascot for decades so he was very iconic,

It may have been forced by regulations more than marketing though, specially in mexico the government went after food mascots. Tony the tiger and chester cheeta are both banned there and Melvin became way uglier.
