So i've just spawned and don't really know where to go. Keep in mind I haven't installed the mods suggested above. I also see a red ray in the distance.

Kiwitown (we still need a name) is good fun. A bunch of rat niggers were spawned in our mines just before getting off for the night, lead by Angela Merkel(the largest rat). Won't be on till tonight, so I'll probably be massively overtaken, but it was nice briefly being the top of the leader boards for mining.

Hopefully we can start making things look nice.
 
edit: admins are trying to clean up the hosts GIMP painted mess and I have received an earnest apology. Situation with lack of trees is slowly improving. We shall see what happens.
the twelve of us have completed a 25x25 foundation for a big fort

The settlement of kiwitown has been founded. if you join the game tomorrow, type /tell konradtheunwise REEEE GET ME IN (or something) and you will be assaulted with multiple village invitations until you kneel. you will get one free village teleport either right then and there or to save for an emergency instead if you chose to make the short walk to us.

Life is feudal is the only thing that ever came close to it in regards to design, minus the part where life is feudal sucked extreme ass.

There is content for any kind of player, animal hoarder, shekel hoarder, house-decorator types, everything decorator types, hardcore grind for the hell of it, beating up other nerds or creatures or just the satisfaction of feeling needed by your fellow kiwis because they rely on you for the villages finest weapons.
the steam video probably outlines it the fastest.

North across the river, then continue west. You will hear the sounds of industry/some poor soul getting raped by local fauna when you are close. Make sure you have your noob buffs or you will aggro everything on the way there.

Todays update, we were forced to fight off a horde of crabs as a team as our village had been invaded by many.
A good view of our tent city and the finished fortification walls and an external manor. Things will start looking nicer soon as we stop living in a favela.
