Their executive emails were hacked again lol (Link | Archive). But consoles are subsidized so people will buy more videogames, which means more money going to the console manufacturer. How would this work with OEMs? If they charge full price, Xbox will die a quick death as it will be much more than the PS6.

Which is exactly why Valve is putting their work on Proton into high gear. I think you can play the vast majority of Windows games (barring games with VAC-type anti-cheats) on Linux now with Proton.

Literally the only thing I want from Microsoft is MDHR and id Software. The moment they "restructure" or "diversify" those two studios Xbox will die. I thought they would at least be smart enough to not FUCK with the MONEY. But Microcok is overhauling their achievement system (which has been regarded as the best in gaming), so you know for a fact they are going to "overhaul" their successful studios to make them more "inclusive" and FUCK them.

I watched their recent community update livestream and it's clear that they want the Forge builders to make all the maps for the main multiplayer.
Don't get me wrong, it's nice to add community-made maps into the multiplayer rotation but 343i could at least put some work into their own fucking game for once...
And for this official BR mode that got cancelled, they didn't gave it to some random studio, it's the one that has been making the post-launch content for past Halo games. Imagine if they were in charge of making new maps for Infinite instead of being forced to develop a Battle Royale mode that nobody (except the TTV tourists) asked for?

Xbox doesn't have exclusives anymore, so it doesn't really matter. They could do a major update to Windows 11 where all Xbox Ones and Series machines get a desktop mode, where those consoles just become Windows desktops, and you can jump between interfaces like Steam's big picture mode. Honestly, they should at this point. That'd be really nice.
PlayStation still gets some exclusives, but pretty much only from in-house studios and Japanese companies that've been slow to move elsewhere. They have one hell of a back catalog, but that doesn't really matter when emulators exist, and PS5 can only play old games downloaded from their store.
I like all the controllers, though.
