I don't know if I should be happy or worry about that new Dishonored.

I will be playing regardless. Number 2 and Death of the outsider had totally haphazard and inconsequential stories but god do I love the level design of all of them.

Also major LOL at MS's release schedule predication. It seems that anyone on the business side of video games literally have zero understanding about how any creative process works, especially a multifaceted production like a video game so they just throw out dates without knowing what "development" even involves.

I want to hear their explanation for the dumb trash can design.
Something about radians and 360 degrees no doubt.

If a Dishonored 3 is on the horizon, it needs to be different people with a completely new system and what-not. Delilah got trapped, twice, and regardless of what you did in Death of the Outsider, that dude is gone. Gonna need a whole new city/country and shit to not tread the same water.

Oh boy let's see:

The XSX refresh: yeah well get fucked consolefags, PC gamers accepted the cloud only reality with Steam long ago, and we were telling you that you will be next on the chopping block. The only reason you still had your disks was because Microsoft's and Sony's markets were too big to just yank the plug, while Valve introduced Steam in 2003 and gradually lured a much smaller market into the cloud ecosystem, easing them into this new reality.

New controller: both excited and skeptical/scared. A lot of it sounds great, like the accelerometer, new haptics, but I am skeptical of things like the modular thumbsticks, as in how fast they will wear out, how expensive will the replacements be, will it be easy to make Hall effect alternatives, will the new haptics play along nicely with PC's, and also the biggest worry of all: recycled materials, which will be less durable than fresh plastic and the controller will be even more expensive. All I want is a universal controller for all my emulation needs that won't end up drifting or won't have a built-in battery that'll die at any time. The XSX controller that I have has the former issue, and the GuilKit controller has the latter issue.

Microsoft wanting to buy out Nintendo and Valve: unrealistically wishful thinking from MS' C-class executives. Japan would never let Nintendo fall into American hands, and Gabe prides his company too much to sell it to a public moloch like Microsoft. There is a reason Valve is so well liked despite being a massive corporation, it's because they are a privately held company, which lets them focus more on making a good product instead of selling their soul to Satan and running their reputation into the ground.

The potential "bloodbath": Microsoft is doing the same mistake THQ and now Embracer is doing: buying out a shitton of studios left and right, hoping they will bring a profit, but once the C-level execs realize that it was a shit idea they'll start axing studios left and right. They've built that hell for themselves, I hope they'll lose billions, because they sure as hell won't learn that buying out big name studios like candy won't guarantee them instant revenue.

The only time I could ever see Valve selling to anyone at all is when Gabe decides he's rich enough and wants to retire for real., and that's assuming he doesn't just pass it over to someone in his family. Until then he'd be a lunatic to let that golden goose go.

Dishonored 1 was pure kino, Dishonored 2 was fine but it was right at the beginning of the woke era and had trannies and black goblinas. My chud sensibilities shudder at the thought of what Dishonored 3 will look like

Most of these ones are boring

They are, but no. 2 shows the amount of copium at Nvidia when it comes to cloud gaming. Nobody's going to pay $20 a month, and be at the whims of both your Internet connection and an external company, when they can just buy a graphics card and whatever's 75% off in the Steam sale. And 240 FPS doesn't mean shit if your "click-to-pixel latency" is as high as 40ms, i.e. 25 FPS.

Diskless is just another word for "always online." The problem being, I think consumers have become more nigger-cattlish since the PS4/XB1 day of "What happens if I'm in a place without Internet?" - "I wouldn't want to live there." That shit bit Microsoft in the ass, hard, and I unfortunately don't think it'd hurt them today like it did then. And you can't convince me otherwise when Cloud Computing and AI is part of their business plan; they're either gonna sell you a server cluster to go with the system, or your system needs to call home. Also no surprise that Microsoft's "plan" is to just buy up all the competition. When they were trying to get the 360 to have a foothold in Japan, they made a lot of exclusive purchases; which is why games like Tales of Vesperia only had a 360 release in the USA, because they were throwing money around. As for buying out Nintendo, good fucking luck retard; you'll tank their brand faster than they'll help yours.

And your next big game (at the time of these papers) was Redfall? You mean that game that got like, a day of coverage, and a majority of coverage was to laugh at it and call it shit?
I don't buy that at all. People nowadays got to see firsthand just how much Cloud Gaming and perpetually online consoles fucking blow. I don't think they'll be any more enthusiastic to buy a console like that when majority of people have gaming PCs anyway.

because microsoft is so out of touch
larian knew the game would be a hit, correctly guessed because half the revenue of gaming is mobile games
and the vast majority of them are turn based rpgs and strategy

MS and Sony fighting for the title of Biggest Retard; who will win? Not their consumers, that's for sure. Valve does little to nothing and they stay winning.

Also, all these remasters on the docket screams of complete stagnation in the gaming industry. A fucking remaster of FO3, what dogshit. Even after these leaks they're still going to do it anyways; the success of Dead Space and RE4 tells them enough retards are happy to pay 80 bucks for games they already played. Easy money.

The wildest thing to me besides their batshit insane pipedream to try, and buy Nintendo (lmao good luck faggot), is that there's still no mention of GTA 6 in any of the release schedules.

There's fucking Elder Scrolls 6 which according to Bethesda is still five years away, but GTA 6 which has already been in development for at least as long is still nowhere to be seen.
To be fair, aren't some of these future games made by studios MS owns? I know GTA is a multiplatform game on a lot of consoles by MS and Sony, but at its heart, GTA is a Playstation hallmark title. So if anything if a release estimate for GTA 6 were to leak, it'd probably have to come from Sony documents, maybe, idk anything about gaming negotiating but those are my thoughts.

I do hate the Antichrist.

Steve Jobs was a faggot, a cunt and patently up his own ass on a lot of issues but by God was that man right about the dangers and horrors of allowing sales and marketing people to take control of companies.

Exactly what we are seeing here. These people don't like video games, they don't even fucking understand them 90% of the time outside of very specific normie examples like sportsball games and stuff like card games. They have no concept of the market and the audience they have. Hell I don't even know if most of these "people" are even human with how they act and speak in such uncomfortable corporate manners American Psycho style. There is no understanding of what the production of the products they are selling and promoting is like, nothing close to a concept. They see all of it as just a spread sheet to make the numbers go up.

I am fucking praying for a international market collapse to makes these fucking monopolies implode.

I forgot Death of the Outsider existed, fuck you very much.
The world building for the Dishonored universe is excellent and it was squandered in such an infuriating way it makes me want to fedpost.

At least in those cases the games were actual remakes, where as remaster implies the exact same game with a fresh coat of paint.
Yeah you're right, I get a little hazy on the differences between the two. At least remakes try to add upon it (even if I think it's for the worse). Even if it WAS a remake, knowing Bethesda it would've been half-assed and more broken than FO3 is currently. Either way it's uninspired. Either way it would suck. Either way it would still sell like hotcakes.

The differentiation between remake and remaster is usually pretty clear. A remaster is the original game or parts of the original game but updated, where a remake is a brand new game from the ground up. What doesn't help is that game companies call remasters remakes, muddying the waters. Shadow of the Colossus PS4 is a remaster, it uses the original game code and is still the original game, but people call it a remake because it has new graphics, the same applies for Demon's Souls, its still the original game, its a remaster. It seems like Nintendo was the only company to get it right in recent years with Metroid Prime Remastered, which is the original game with redone graphics, but I've seen people call it a remake still.

It also gets confusing with 1:1 remakes, like the upcoming Super Mario RPG or Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, those are from the ground up remakes, but they are 1:1 with the original game in terms of content (from what we've seen) and act more like remasters despite being remade as brand new games without working from the original.

Arguably Fallout 3 'needs' a remaster more than New Vegas. Fallout 3 runs like shit on my computers and crashes regularly even with bug fixing patches. New Vegas meanwhile runs very well for what it is, with only the community bug fix installed.

Is that why they're remastering it? Of course not, but Im trying to find the silver lining.
Fallout 3 wouldn't even start on windows 10 without downloading a third party DLL fix for about half a decade. Bethesda somehow managed to fuck up that badly even though Oblivion runs on modern windows OS just fine.
