Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - pip pip cheerio cor blimey

So NOA updated their description saying that Xenoblade has a huge open world. I am told X has the best world exploration by far.

That is quite literally the only thing X did really right within this series. Combat? Most broken mess and it has some convoluted stats that don't properly convey what's good unless you autism test things or you look it up. Dual guns are also broken weapons. Not using your giant mech is generally better (especially vs bosses) then actually using it most the time which is just bizarre and unintuitive. You may wonder, how do you make mechs suck in a mecha anime game vs just pulling out two pistols and strapping a katana to your back? I dunno, but X did it.

Story? Jank and unfinished with a crappy cliffhanger. The side stories were pretty whatever, one of them really had something going for me until they completely fucked it up at the end with an entirely different cliffhanger that comes from effectively nowhere. I usually don't let endings sour the rest of a story, but that ending was so fucking out of nowhere that I just couldn't like the story retroactively anymore. For people that actually played X, I'm talking about Yelv's story.

New look at Nia and Melia

XC1: In this land humans fight robots that want to make them go extinct and use their bodies as vital fuel for their machine only empire, also the only weapon that can reasonably fight them is a lightsaber that may kill you. Good luck.

XCX: The earth is fucking dead, we must escape the aliens or we go extinct. We crash land on a distant planet and have X days to find the main ship or we all just fucking die. Now move your ass!

XC2: The world is atop living continents that are dying out and people are sinking into the clouds, never to return. Also Blades lose their memories every time they got into their core crystal, meaning for all their immortality their lives are even more fleeting then mortal lives. Also if you fail to resonate with a blade, you just fucking die, idiot.

XC3: The world is constantly at war and everyone only has 10 years to live even if you survive the constant conflict, you will spend those years constantly in battle or training to go into battle from the moment you're born. So your life is forever cucked fuckhead.

I can't tell if the world is getting better or worse with every entry.

Edit: I noticed this in the expansion pass section, the sword on the right is obviously Pyra's sword, but the Sword on the left I'm pretty sure Shulk's sword in the extra section from XC1 Definitive

The DLC pass getting announced this early is still bullshit. Torna was at least a stand alone game that came with the DLC stuff for 2 included.

This happened with 2 exactly the same way and roughly the same time, as seen here with the time stamp included.

So really nothing is different with 3 in this way, so it is right on time if anything. We don't know what the extra story scenario is, it could be another Torna for all we know.

Some potentially spoilery info has been found inside of the JP website for Xenoblade 3. This is info that hasn't really been officially disclosed yet so adding it to a spoiler tag

Filename contains the phrase "Moebius", which corresponds to a shot from an earlier trailer where Eunie's Ouroboros has an art that deals increased damage to Moebius. I believe this is probably the name of their species rather than the name of their group.

Most interesting is the character on the right though, who wields a blade remarkably similar to Noah's sword and looks almost identical to Noah (except with hair down and new drip). And looking into the page's source code, the "alt" tag is populated with the text "エヌ", which translates to "Enu" (which will likely be localised to "N"). So we've got a villain who looks almost identical to the main character, uses a very similar weapon, and their name is literally the first letter of the main character's name.

My prediction: Based on the shot we saw during the trailer of the consul entering into a room full of human pods, and one of the Moebius saying "we can always grow more". Cloning potentially plays a very big part in this story. And if you want my crackpot theory. I think the Moebius are either the originals, or potentially some kind of early clone created as a template. The 10 year lifespan is a result of the cloning process, as it creates people with shorter lifespans. This doesn't explain the need to fight eachother, and the big question is "why is the world filled with clones" if it's true. But there's almost definitely stuff at play we haven't seen yet.

Xenoblade 2 DLC came out in a very similar schedule to what was announced for Xenoblade 3 DLC.

Torna The Golden Country didn’t come out until September 2018, almost a year after Xenoblade 2’s release in December 2017.

Yes but Torna came packed with the DLC. It was a full on separate game that had the DLC for 2 come with it.

For it to be exactly the same the DLC would need to come with a separate Xenoblade game. All they're listing is an exclusive scenario which is not an individual game or a full expansion.

This “new story scenario” is very likely going to be a separate game like Torna TGG and Future Connected in Xenoblade Definitive Edition and it comes with the season pass….hopefully more like Torna since FC was only 8 hours long, and Torna was a solid 30 hours.

I honestly don’t see what you are complaining about.

I may be wrong here, but did they not anounce it later that it would get a stand alone release because it became bigger then expected? Could it still happen here?

I mean maybe but being that all large titles are still suffering the side effects from the corona shutdown it seems unlikely. They had to move Xenoblade up from it's original release date, the DLC at this point looks like stuff that they didn't have time to exactly finish at least from my perspective.

It isn't impossible for it to be Pyra or Poppi. Depending on how the blades work post XC2 ending they can still be immortal, I doubt it, but it isn't impossible and Poppi is literally a robot so doubly so for her. Shulk and Fiora were blades in XC2 in some weird limbo where they fully acknowledged things across their entire game, despite that making no sense canonically due to how 1 and 2 happen more or less at the same time. So it isn't impossible that they'll make some bullshit excuse to fan service out some XC2 characters behind DLC if they want to.

Got an email today about my pre-order, they'll take the money out of accounts on the 22nd

Game has leaked be careful. I've seen many say it takes cues from X1 in terms of style and themes but improves on it greatly. And the voice work was directed properly for once.

There are rumours that a female character has been turned into non binary and is now voiced by a trannie. Hopefully not true (or it's a minor character), since I liked the English dub of those games, but I can't be hopeful considering it's current year.
