Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - pip pip cheerio cor blimey

There are rumours that a female character has been turned into non binary and is now voiced by a trannie. Hopefully not true (or it's a minor character), since I liked the English dub of those games, but I can't be hopeful considering it's current year.
Assuming there is some credibility in the rumors, I would simply bet it's a genderbent ability sometimes seen in japanese fiction works, but american localizers need to shove their inane politics as always. Like how 13 Sentinels has the dude cross-dressing as girl to simply hide his identity, in the japanese script and other non-english languages, but it was altered in english to make it about "binaries".

Not sure if ResetEra thread here has covered it, but from ResetEra about Xenoblade 3 spoiler, the non-binary, search for Juniper.

Google with Lily Hart result

Edit: I know Japanese have neutral words to refer third person without outright stating the gender, it's that scene kinda missing context, feel like glasses guy and his team don't even know who is Juniper yet.

Edit 2: From US Nintendo twitter, using "their". Comparing with JP twitter, for any moonrunes reader.

Juniper's Japanese VA is Rie Kugimiya and this is how someone translated that second Japanese tweet (though google uses a bunch of different pronouns so I'm guessing the Japanese doesn't actually say). So it still seems like a localization thing, whether it was before or after casting.

Quite disappointing, the Xenoblade fandom is already full of trannies and they really didn't need more encouragement.

Hope I can completely avoid that then
Its a Hero character so you only miss their class and them as one of many 7th party members, and even then I believe you can just briefly unlock them to get the class and ignore them beyond that if you really want. They're pretty optional to my understanding.

I personally won't, because I'm not letting gameplay slip away due to some localizer wanting to turn what seems to be a tomboy-ish character into non-binary.

Trannies gonna Try and Groom anyone who looks Groomable, even Fictional characters.
Yeah…
For some godawful reason I was looking at XB3’s tvtropes page and at one point they say the UK is virulenty transphobic with no prompting. If it’s voiced by a troon I at least know not to put her in the party. There are plenty if other options per the prerelease info, and class switching going to be realy user-friendly in this.

Yeah same, I want that bow and I doubt her non-binaryness extends any further than pronouns. There's better 7th party members anyway, once I get that class open.

Tvtropes makes everything about troons so no surprises there. I was actually looking at it yesterday to see if anyone added anything about the fandom freaking out about the IGN/GameSpot/Game Informer reviews but clearly didn't look hard enough to catch the troon whining

I think it was in the wmg page.

I wont use it because Bows are for Losers.

Edit : I didn't go far enough before.

Bows are for Pointy Eared Sissy Faggots, who would probably Troon out in Real life.

Eat Shit Legolas.

I personally don't really give much of a fuck. I remember it bothering me when localisers made Okino a Non-Binary character in 13 Sentinels because his whole story with Hijikata was about gay acceptance and I felt like they actually crippled their own representation to supplant it with another, more marginalised form of representation (being gay wasn't LGBT enough for them, apparently).

But a random nothing character in a big ass fantasy game with a lot going on probably wasn't even going to enter my radar until I read this thread. I will probably take a look at it to see if it gets mentioned in-game or if it's just social media point-scoring like how APEX and Overwatch relegate their representation to webcomics and tweets from the VAs.

Rie is well known for being The 12 year old tsundere character to the point she was everywhere in the 2000's (only to disappear once the new hot thing got in style) so having a tranny voice her is insane. The problem is that even if I would want to play the Japanese voice out of nostalgia, her entire questline is sure to be unintelligible due to politics and pronouns fuckery.

Feels bad man.

Decided to use the Japanese dub in the end, fuck current year and ruining one of the better series dubs for everyone. Also I'm playing on hard but I have a feeling it's more of a time waster until the game finally gets going.
So far the opening takes forever.
It's not as bad as Xenosaga

About 4.5 hours until the game finally begins with the full cast. Combat is pretty slow and I returned to normal just to get on with it. In the end it's probably more difficult to just play the game on Normal without using bonus levels.

Edit: Having 6 playable characters, while novel, makes fights a clusterfuck and switching mid fight is terrible and useless since it's hard to even know who you switched to, and characters will proc their skills the second you switch from them. I guess fights will end up mainly be what character combination and arts you choose.
