Yandere Simulator - Thank you for following the development of Yandere Simulator

It's times like this I wish he wasn't holding the coding in such a vice grip. I get it's his property, but he's not really getting much done and it's already been in development for two years with barely any progress. He needs help.

It wouldn't do any good. If there's one thing I've learned about single man products, its that because there is only one person, the dev never sees the need to comment or give logical variables to anything, which means to anyone other than the author the code is an unreadable mass of eldritch writing.

That's a very good point. I didn't even consider that. So we're back to looking at either "being released years from now when it'll be irrelevant" or "being released never" again.

He's been talking about a Kickstarter to kick the game into gear and also replace all placeholder or store-bought assets with custom ones.
He just says that he needs to get the game into a more polished state before it's ready for Kickstarter.
Personally, I think that with his record, he'd actually be able to raise a pretty good amount via Kickstarter. He's shown pretty consistent progress and he does know what he's doing. As long as he promises to do things like bring on more coders with his money I think he'd do well.

Why the dev checks email so often is beyond me.

He said in one video that he wasn't going to get a secretary to handle his mail. I don't see why he can't get one.
He mentioned the reasons why in the same video actually:

You can chalk all of those up to his apparent narcissism.

And then there's the bit where he said that he 'went insane' a long time ago. I'm not sure whether the dev is trying to garner sympathy or just overreacting to the fanbase.

The other obvious change is to get someone who isn't incompetent to do the programming. Less global variables and more abstraction/object orientation.
Also someone might want to set up a git if this is actually happening.

Just thinking here... The more YandereDev takes to implement the "custom base model", the longer the project will take to be presentable for Kickstarter.
If a new base model is placed in the game, a huge amount of animations won't work anymore. Plus, all hairstyles, clothing and texture stockings wouldn't work either. YandereDev would have to spend a huge amount of time just to make all those things work again.
His mistake were always "waiting too much". The moment he decide to make Yandere Simulator a serious and complex game, it became impossible to make something good with shitty assets. Even so, he kept the assets just to keep adding more and more features that won't be even in the final game (cough cough EVERYTHING IN FRIENDSHIP/BETRAYAL cough cough).

Welp, guess we didn't want to change the base model to keep recieving praysing from his fanbase.

Not if you rig it to the same skeleton.

It'll probably be modelled around existing hair. Clothing is modelled onto the characters I think, which wouldn't make it much of a big deal either.

It wouldn't if we were talking about a decent developer... But, you know, YandereDev is a snail. I was checking his oldest blogposts and basically, it took him almost one year just to make senpai walk around the school. Also, only in august (i think) on last year was the time he implemented the option to change school uniform in game. And, you know, the uniforms that were already with the Assets and could easily be implemented since the bery beggining.

To be honest I'm quite interested to see a YS made by the farms, could actually call it Lovesick and have a decent scenario.
What does a game need actually ? I don't know a lot about making game tho I can volunteer for the art design for the characters and stuff & propose ideas for the story

We do need to start from scratch though.
So let's say we can actually make a stealth game on PC we need people who can do things like : model, programming, make music, voice acting, story tell, script, sound, design, art, also a project management i guess, and game testers (then people who can translate in different language later if the idea come to life eventually)

Realistically?

A director and producer to oversee it, for art you'd conceptual artists, modellers, texture artists, maybe a particle effects artist, for music you'd need a musician and/or sound designer, a whole bunch of programmers for shit like AI, shaders etc., maybe a writer, very maybe voice actors, QA...
