The real issue i have with the yaoi fandom is that its hard to tell if a fanfic is going to be a harlequin-romance fic with a skin or actually a fanfiction by someone who is a fan of the property its about before you read it, some of them even say they just saw the designs of the characters and have never watched/read the original.
