I just got to the part where you get the honor of killing Juju the Cow and Vito The Pedo. The greatest highlight of my playthrough, to be sure.

That's not the real third ending. There is a weird secret third ending.
So what you're saying is that this big update is one big, expensive temper tantrum the devs threw at these two, correct? Why else go the extra mile to spite the players and the people who, in all seriousness, just made their games more popular(if not for the reasons they would want) to this degree? From what I am hearing about this update, it has the same energy as a small child stomping it's feet because it didn't get what it wanted.Honestly, Tehsnakerer was right in his intial interpretation of YIIK being a game that hates you, more so now given how much the devs and fans hate him and RunningShine.
Yes, the developers are very spiteful and bitter towards anyone who dislikes their games. RunningShine and Tehsnakerer are the main two they hate, but there are more people who are included in the game, but I need to double-check certain things to make sure.So what you're saying is that this big update is one big, expensive temper tantrum the devs threw at these two, correct?
The devs hated the youtubers and streamers who made the game “popular” since they were critical of the game and hated their interpretations and criticisms. Why else go the extra mile to spite the players and the people who, in all seriousness, just made their games more popular(if not for the reasons they would want) to this degree? Oh, wow. Where'd you see that? That's new lore to me ...and fucking brilliant.Another thing I heard from the developers is that Alex is not allowed to have a good ending and he cannot become a better person. I didn’t understand it when I first heard this, but over time when I discovered that Alex is straw-man based off a former friend and other people who the developers have a personal grudge against, then it became more clear as to why they said what they said.
This could be very interesting. Do you have a source for anything in this paragraph? I always interpreted Alex as an intended stand in for the players (though he's arguably a better stand in for the Brothers), so it could be intriguing exploring this facet of how they view their playerbase.Another thing I heard from the developers is that Alex is not allowed to have a good ending and he cannot become a better person. If you could make a good ending for Alex, what would it be and how would it play out?If you were to write a good ending for Alex, then you are letting the people who the develoeprs hate “win” at life.
Well, Benevolent Psychosis kind of has a good ending for Alex, but it essentially boils down to him being forgiven as an accidental side effect of what Michael is doing.Another thing I heard from the developers is that Alex is not allowed to have a good ending and he cannot become a better person. Benevolent Psychosis explicitly points out that this interpretation is wrong. You literally only get into the new content by stating it is wrong. In typical YIIK fashion, the third ending exists to waste your time in order to prove a point. That point being you, the player, are the "Alex" of our reality for trying to look for something that doesn't exist. Its suppose to parallel Alex looking for Sammy during half of the game, but near the end you find out that Sammy doesn't actually exist and the game wasted your time for nothing..
Keep in mind the secret thrid ending stuff stretches as far back as 2019 a couple of months after 1.0.Benevolent Psychosis explicitly points out that this interpretation is wrong. You literally only get into the new content by stating it is wrong.
That means the devs are either liars or don't realize what they wrote.
The "good ending" already exists within a beta build. There is an unused stage where you play as Essentia, after a while you get to fight the final boss of the game, the one you can actually win against. Once he is defeated, Alex reminisces on the events that lead up to this point, realizes that his previous problems seem miniscule in comparison and decided not to be a little bitch to everyone. Rest of the gang live happily ever after, Alex gets the girl, the end. Is it generic? Yes, but it's better than what we got in 1.0 and probably better than what we are ever going to get if this is trueIf you could make a good ending for Alex, what would it be and how would it play out?

IIRC, the Dick Show interview is where Andrew mentions that Alex is a piece of shit who has to transform. After that interview, the fans on twitter then added in the whole “Alex wants transform into better person, but he doesn’t” part to excuse Andrew’s poor communication skills. This could be very interesting. How'd you figure that? To me, they read like he was working on a significant sidequest in YIIK at the time, and I'm curious if it made into the final game in any form. Odds are it didn't, since he's not mentioned in the credits. If they explicitly said "Tyler went on an epic sidequest", it would sound like an euphemism for "he's in prison for rape".In some of these interviews, they kept mentioning that Tyler was working on the game but he ending up going on an “epic sidequest” instead. Given the tone from those quotes, its clear the brothers didn't like Tyler.
Are you talking about the "partial original ending" section? Apparently the devs said that was supposed to be representative of a "failed ego death"; he's the only Alex who was able to beat Proto Alex, he carries a sword and shield on his back as a homage to Zelda presenting himself as the "Link" of the story, there's grand fantastical music playing, it ends with the Essentia (who is meant to be an alternate Vella) confessing her love for him, etc.The "good ending" already exists within a beta build. Quoting myself since it's too late to edit away my shame: I can't read, and Tyler was confirmed (sort of) working on Two Brothers in these articles, not YIIK. He's still mentioned in the reviews as of November 2012, but he was removed from the "About us" section of their website in August of 2013. Even then, he's only mentioned in the little blurb, and doesn't get his own introduction:Insanely good post. I predict this will end up in some video titled "The hidden YIIK developer who disappeared", with no sources cited.

I checked this video 11 year old video, but he didn't seem to be in the credits, really shitty and unprofessional behavior on the part of the devs, getting put in a games credits is the difference between getting hired and getting shown the door.No mention of him in the credits .rtf file that's included with Two Brothers. I was curious to see if there was anything in the ingame credits, but I don't think a single person has managed to record a full playthrough - the game was simply too shitty and broken.
YIIK began development in early 2013, which meant he should have been around at the time.
I was referring to what Andrew said in the Dick Show interview when he said that the third ending cannot be data-mined from the game. If the third ending cannot be data-mined, then it doesn’t exist in the game's files at all. It also doesn’t help that the Ackk Studios twitter posted vague statements about the third ending that implies the ending will upset anyone who finds it.Well, Benevolent Psychosis kind of has a good ending for Alex, but it essentially boils down to him being forgiven as an accidental side effect of what Michael is doing.
So in a way I kind of see it. That said, I am definitely not sure I buy Andrew's claim he has recently made on the YIIK Discord that the game was always about Satanism all along.
