So I have to install ifuckingtunes on my PC, transfer music over there, then back to my phone if it will let me (FLAC not supported). I will give this phone a week, then return it if I can't get on...I'd rather not give any more money to Samsung if I can help it.
I would recommend either Nokia brand or HMD. little to no extra faff

Do you happen to have Jellyfin set up on your own network? Finamp should solve that problem and has control centre integration.

I have a Huawei p40 pro, I'm undecided whether to take snoy Xperia 10 vi (compact, with headphone jack and micro sd slot) or poco x6 pro (the processor is not bad for what it costs).

since the last fairphone posts are about the 4 and a few years old, anyone got some opinion about the fairphone 5? I really don't need anything fancy but are willing to pay for more than cheap chinktech for the openness, principle and support.

I have the FairPhone 4 and the next one will probably be another FP again. Not the best, but I love the idea of it and find it something worth while to support. It does everything I need it to, and I can add another SD-Card to increase my storage for cheep, which I have done.

I run CalyxOS on it by the way!

If it wouldn't be Huawei phone (no American software supported - including any Google services or whatever. Also, there is almost no custom rom development community), I would definitely go for this. But the price is too high anyway.

Mate XT Utimate

I saw this in action and have to say I was really impressed. It's easy to see how this is really useful in daily life, when having to check spreadsheets, watching videos, or reading books.

I hope other manufacturers bring something similar soon.

It's average chinkium.

I don't really understand this video, but it appears Australia is on its way to bricking millions of phones, at least when used locally. In about a month. And that the Network they're rolling out will only work on locally purchased phones.

Not that I have any plans to visit the place, but this seems retarded, even by Ausfag standards.

VLC will play FLACs and other files on iPhone, and it can have drag and drop by sharing files over the local network.

Changed my POCO F3 for a Xiaomi 14T on a whim this last monday, literally days after they released it here. Lots of storage (512 GB), lots of RAM (12 GB), AND Leica cameras + an accesories kit as a gift for ~550 dollars? Yes please. It's also really elegant-looking and very comfortable to hold despite being almost the same size as the POCO.

Welcome to the Xiaomi 14 lifestyle. I also went from a poco to a 14 and my wife has the 14 ultra.

Great phones that should really make Apple/Samsung/ and now Pixel buyers question what they're spending all of that $ on.

Speaking of, my iPhone 16 Pro Max arrived last week. I wasn't sure how well I would get on with the bigger screen (previous phone was a iPhone 14) but it's fine, and now the 14 feels tiny to hold.

My battery suck complete shit on my iphone 13 and will be upgrading on my next payday. The camera is abysmal and looks like a water color painting if you zoom too far
