Your Received Medallions

God damn. When he first announced these, I was absolutely convinced that I would never get one, because I mean why would I? Now I'm tempted to change my mind and order Merried Seinor Comic. Or Mitch.

If you do decide to order a Merried Seinor Comic medal, could you ask him to jot two things down on the certification?

How does he pronounce it?
What was he going for with the name?

It would hopefully put some longstanding questions to bed.

Chris makes promises and actually delivers, I like that. I think his sweetheart may be a good influence on him. First she made him apologize to gay dudes, now she's reminding him to keep his word and make his deadlines. He was right all along: all he needed to get his life back on track was to find love. :heart-full:

Well, he never really had deadlines before. At least not ones where money and "contracts" were involved. I am not sure that is obvious he would have missed them before; he has always been a decent eBay seller.

Although it is not obvious he would have met them, either.

yawning abomination

y'all can say thats a fuckup or whatever but that guy now has the closest thing possible to the sonic totem, the most powerful of ancient chris relics

I don't condone what Pumpkin Swirl did, but, in your case, I believe you deserve a refund or a replacement medal. Try working with Chris first though, before taking your complaint to ebay.

As I said in a previous post, I don't expect any of the medals to be perfect, but this is just completely unacceptable. You paid $30 for that (and he didn't even use true and honest cotton puddings in the box, that's some sort of cheapo synthetic crap).

It kind of adds to the stoner gimmick though. At least with the eyes. The rest of it looks like a super-rushed paint job.

Edit: I'm a little interested in seeing if any of the other Sonichu medallions will turn out like this though. Perhaps Chris got sloppy with this one because it's a character he doesn't understand and doesn't care about?

It looks like this one isn't even really 'molded'. He just took a circular lump of model magic, and colored it (horribly). It's obvious that he put no real work into it at all. Still, the buyer should give him a chance to do the right thing before escalating this. I hope Chris at least makes her a replacement.

Now that he's not so rushed, maybe the replacement will be of better quality and workmanship.

I like it. It's kind of charming. When I opened it I couldn't help but giggle.

Nevermind my previous posts then. If you're happy with your medallion, then it's all good.

Although I agree the medal is nowhere near a $30 value, unless Fluffle doesn't like it I'd suggest not bothering Chris for a new one or a refund.

I'd personally be satisfied with owning a piece of Christory and knowing that he at least he lived up to his promise of making it at all and getting it shipped. Consider it a $30 donation to a hobby that's been entertaining people for years.

Just my opinion anyway.

Spoiler tag that shit! You're letting dark forces into this thread!

Seriously though, these medallions are... interesting. The Squirtle one just kind of saddens me. I realize Chris' artistic talents are... unique... but even then, the painting on this looks really rushed, or it looks really watery. I wonder what brand of Acrylic paint he's using or this- he might do well do experiment using metallic-based paints. get an extra sheen. Of course, he'd also have to realize he'd probably need to apply additional coats, and I don't think he could be bothered with that.

I don't have pictures handy. My medallion is in the 20's even though I was literally the fourth order when he posted the eBay listing. I guess he did not go in order, and it's pretty damned obvious that past the first dozen or so he ran out of steam. It's not a bad medallion, but it looks rushed and like a hack job. Also, for some reason the signature on the back of mine looks like it didn't agree with the paint or Model Magic because it's completely faded and blurry.

The presentation was a bit unexpected though, it was really carefully packed inside of a gift box that was labeled and everything, and the Certificate of Authenticity is laminated too. It looks like it's laminated manually with contact paper but still, that's pretty neat.
same with mine, at least the order number. I was the third to order from the listing but for some reason got number 13.

I wonder if the original medallion(s) are part of the numbering system.

Or if he just picks random numbers to decorate it because "#___ of ___" is something he has seen on collectibles. Is that too dumb even for Chris?

I think people have to be very careful approaching Chris about any sort of replacement/refund. I am not saying people don't deserve them, but we know now disagreements with Chris can lead to doxing. And you might not mean it to be confrontational, but Chris does not take criticism well and he is not going to take "my medallion was too shitty" as a direct challenge.

I am not trying to defend Chris when I say people should not ask for refunds/replacements. I am speaking with only the customer's interests at heart. Unless of course they don't care about doxing, or have shielded themselves well against it.
