Youtube Institutes Monetization Changes - ....Really?

So earlier today, Youtube rolled out changes to its monetization setup:

Reading these, you can immediately see that they're ambiguous enough to allow widespread demonetization of virtually everything and then some. But a recent vid by Phillip DeFranco, and reports by several other YouTubers has revealed a pattern in the channels getting demonetized:

I'm hoping to Christ that this pattern isn't as insane as it seems at a glance, because fuck, man.

It's official, YouTube's gone full Tumblr. Next, they'll be banning everyone outright for not being an SJW.

YouTube: now rated pg-13

But seriously, YouTube does now its top money makers break nearly every rule outlined there, don't they? Sexual humor and foul language is 90% of the site's content.

These changes are blowing up

Get ready for every youtube talking head to be going on about this for awhile. The fat these are going up so fast is surprising to say the least. Like the H3H3 lawsuit and resulting legal fund, I wonder if this'll lead to people trying to crowd fund a youtube alternative.

Such alternatives already exist. The problem is YouTube is just so big it has a monopoly. Even if people like PewDiePie and other big names in the industry made a site, most people wouldn't move over (the casual viewers, older viewers, kids, ect.). Youtube is the place and I don't see it being taken down anytime soon.

Just when one problem seems to be coming to an end (false copy right cases thanks to H3H3 and TBR tackling it legally), YouTube finds another way to fuck it up.

Honeslty, fuck Youtube. I can see these changes maybe being pulled, but I also said that about the shitty Google+ garbage.

And I actually feel bad for a good majority of YouTubers out there. This is their job, as stupid as it is (playing games, "reacting", etc.), I hope everything will turn out alright.

Onision must be pulling his hair out over this.
Not even just Onion Boy. Rest in piece every lets player ever.

If it were any other site I'd say they'd pull it but they haven't done shit about anything people have complained about (false copyright, google plus, a bunch of other layout/function changes). Even when every single big YouTuber from let's players to creepy pasta readers are making PSA videos about it (WTFU)

I'd didn't say it'd be successful, but i could see someone try and 8chan youtube, maybe a new cow will be born.

Google+ is also getting an overhaul, but I was too salty about that to give a shit.

YouTube used to be that site where years of actually educational, generally well informative videos were uploaded. Now everything that was useful to watch from several years ago is now either deleted or flagged, or muted.

I'm ignorant here. When Youtube pull's a video's monetization, do ads still run on the video or is the video run ad-free?

Basically, I don't know whether this is a money grab or general faggotry.

Broad, open-ended rules that can be selectively enforced are a favorite of businesses. To hedge against demonetization, people that cover controversial subjects will have to e-beg, at least until Maude Flanders bans pornography and profanity from anyone using Patreon.

Ads won't run on it. This policy is supposedly because companies didn't want their ads playing on "inappropriate" videos.

I'm confused, are they actually removing the videos or are they just picking and choosing which videos the channel can make money on?
