cartoons are for kids, but ended up being indirectly responsible for the most depraved subculture in existence

1930: let's put anthropomorphic animals in our animations. it's innocent enough for kids to watch. what could go wrong?
Cartoons during that time period wasn't really made for kids. I mean a lot of it was pretty politically incorrect that you can never get away with a lot of stuff that they used to do now.

Here's an old Disney cartoon where Goofy is a heavy smoker where he tries (and fails) to quit smoking.
Here's the uncensored version of this old Looney Tunes short 'Fresh Hare' with the black face at the end.
Back then the people that saw this stuff was in movie theaters were adults. Sure sometimes adults would take their kids to see this stuff but for the most part the people that could afford watching this was grown men and women.

Well, at least Watership Down, Grave of the Fireflies and Plague Dogs don't seem to be flagged as such.

The Zoomers are going to avoid some trauma.

Mostly out of curiosity since it was so fucking big in the early 2010's that it was impossible for me and a lot of people to even escape it at the time.

Tried it, didn't really got into it, and I moved on. The only time the Internet made me like a show that got me hooked was Jojo many years later.

I guess I dont know how old you are, but outside of being aware that weirdo males on the internet had formed a strange culture around the show that was easy to mock, I didnt know jack shit about it and I found it incredibly easy to have never seen said show.

Don't Zoomers already get exposed to stuff like Logan Paul showing a dead body in the Japanese forest? If you ask me they probably seen stuff online that makes Watership Down look tame.

Will this affect cartoon reviewing channels?, there are a lot people in YT who review cartoons and animated movies for a living, if their videos get flagged, so the comments are deactivated and cannot be monetized, maybe we'll get a lot sperging in the next few days

Honestly, anything to bring down Youtube at this point. I'm just tired of Youtube's bullshit and I want to ditch them.

Now whether something like Bitchute will someday replace Youtube or some other new thing, the day Youtube finally implodes is the day that I will then abandon ship and never look back.

It's sad too. 10 years ago Youtube was actually fun. I remember watching animations, funny videos, all those dumb conspiracy theory videos like stuff about politics and the Illuminati that would then become memes, Youtube Poops, songs from other countries that would become memes too, all of that edgelord humor like TVFilthyFrank, dumb anime videos, and so on.

But now it's just a soulless and empty platform that would rather shill for Hollywood celebrities than the creators now.

The charm, fun, and soul that Youtube had is gone now.

So they could've just left their shit alone, and just pissed off some advertisers that would inevitably come back quietly after a few months anyway because it's YouTube. But instead now they're now going to piss off parents by making them have to learn and explain dick girls to Little Timmy because they got recommended Bible Black.

Great moves YouTube, keep it up, proud of you!

Remember, all this mass flagging of videos for "kids stuff" is because youtube willingly collected advertising data on minors despite it being against the law since the internet was a thing. They got caught with their pants down and are now massively overcompensating so their website doesn't get fucked by the government. This is their fault all the way to the core.

I don't know if I should laugh at the fact it always seems like animation gets fucked alot when it comes to YouTube or be mad at how YouTube can be outright incompetent not even one month in the new year and someone has fuck up.

ETA- Also what is with the autistic slap fight in the last page over moving pictures.

Technically, this is all because Youtube was collecting data on kids for video recommendations and ads. Which is very very illegal and they got fined out the ass for it.

So this was their attempt to fix that.

Neither have Akira or Pink Floyd's The Wall, amusingly enough. Matter of fact, The Trial scene from The Wall is age-restricted, which doesn't make up for all the other shit or anything but it does stand out.
