Why do you think so many Youtubers end up with threads here? You thought celebrities were attention whores back in the day? Well, now attention itself has become an easily measurable and tradable commodity. Sure, there was shit like the Nielsen ratings and box office numbers, but even the amount of time and what parts a person watches can be dissected and analyzed extensively, and other people can very publicly attack you for it.
YouTubers are conditioned to be the biggest attention whores on the planet, because not only do they have to try and pull in as many people as possible, the system (algorithm) is fickle, and can change at a moments notice for corporate interests. Try NOT compromising your morals in that situation. Also stuff like, you know, actual art that takes time and effort, like shorts films or animation or whatever, may get a decent amount of views, but not make shit in revenue, requiring the channel to do some gay ass podcast or something, where they either are not entertaining, or overshare and get stuck in some nonsense drama. I've seen it time and time again, it's getting very tiresome.
This also causes the reliance on previously created properties, people have to talk about Nintendo shit or whatever because that's what will attract the most cattle viewers, as it's harder to project an original idea or concept. That or they have to struggle session their original concept with internet drama and/or culture war bullshit, not allowing the concept to stand on it's own two feet. Say what you will about the old school studio systems, but at least it was just the movie, or the show, as itself, as opposed to, "hey, you don't like this, that, or the other, so see this to show em", it IMMEDIATELY makes your idea look a grift, no matter the actual quality of it.
